Author's POV
Sehun had just done taking a shower to freshen up himself after getting all his works done around the house.
He was drying his wet hair with the towel on the bed when his phone suddenly rang which caught his attention.
His eyebrows furrowed as he reached for the cell phone on the bed side. "Eomma?," he muttered when he saw the caller's name on the screen.
"Hello, eomma?," he greeted as he answered the call right away. Sitting back, letting the towel around his neck.
"How are you doing? You haven't call me for a while," the voice of a woman sounded from across the phone.
Sehun grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm doing well, eomma," he replied.
"I'm sorry for not calling you. I've been quite busy these past few months," he uttered. "How are you, eomma?"
He haven't been calling his mother ever since he got laid off. The reason was he didn't want to make either his parents feel worried over him.
He was supposed to be helping them but he could not even do it. That thought made him felt more disappointed in himself.
They were nothing but supportive to him.
"When are you coming back, Sehun? It has been a while," he heard his mom saying that and guilt started creeping into his heart.
He wanted to go back so bad but he was too busy focusing on finding new jobs that he was not even thinking about it.
"I will be back soon, eomma. After I settled things around here, I will go home," he replied.
He sighed deeply. "How is appa doing?," he questioned this time, trying to change the topic.
"Appa? He is as usual, still working hard," his mom replied.
Sehun furrowed his eyebrows hearing that. "Eomma, I told you guys to not do any hard jobs. I can send you money," he said.
He just wanted both of his parents to rest from doing anything. That was his way to repay all the things they had done for him.
"You know how your father is. I have told him that many times but he still refused to listen to me," his mother responded.
Sehun shook his head. "Make sure to take care of your health, eomma. Call me right away if you ever need anything," he said.
He could hear his mom chuckling from the phone call. "You too, son. If you have any problems, just come home. We will always be here waiting for you," she said.
"We are proud of you no matter what."
Sehun felt his eyes getting teary when he heard that. His heart felt full after hearing those kind words from his mother.
"Thank you, eomma," he replied.
"Oh, how is Yeri doing?," she suddenly asked and Sehun had just remembered not telling his mom anything about their break up.
He completely forgot about it.
"Yeri?," he paused for a bit before continuing. "We...are not together anymore, eomma," he responded slowly.
There was no other way than to just be telling the truth after all.
It was a while of silence after he uttered those words. There was no response he got from his mother and he started getting scared of disappointing her.
