Aurora had woken up, ready for the day. She heard her alarm going off as she switched it off while she sat up and looked at the window. Her apartment in the big city was still dark, telling her that her 4am alarm actually went off. She shook her head while she had gotten out of bed and walked towards her window looking out of it. She smiled as the city was still dark, but it wasn't silent. In the streets were people walking around and shops beginning to open. It was sometimes true. Richmond had certain places that were open early in the morning and didn't close at night.
"Okay day. Let's do this," Aurora said as she walked towards her closet.
Aurora had gotten out her workout clothes as she got changed and went for a run. One of the many things hat Aurora had loved about the whole scenery of Richmond, was that the people were generous. After her mother's death she did spend a lot of time at Logan's place until she was ready to take on the real world and when she was, her own neighbors were concerned and she knew she had someone with her.
"Ain't this a surprise to see you here," she heard a voice as she turned around.
"Wesley, hi," Aurora said as she smiled at the older guy.
Wesley Bennett was one of the engineering students on campus who Aurora had various times bonded with. She was close with 4 of the engineers and although she wasn't always sure how it would go, she didn't stop being friends with any of them.
"And if you're out this early? I mean, it is like 4:15am," Wesley said.
"Yeah, well. Things with me aren't that well anymore. A lot had changed," Aurora said.
"Such as?" Wesley asked as Aurora smiled.
"A lot. Let's just say that," Aurora said looking at the clock.
"I have to go. I still need to shower and stuff before heading to campus. I'll see you later," Aurora said as Wesley smiled.
"See you then," Wesley said.
Aurora had arrived back at her apartment as she went to her room and grabbed things to go for a shower. Although she knew that the weather hadn't completely changed just yet, she got out a black dress with a blue plaid shirt and some brown heeled boots. Pairing that with a necklace as she had gone out of the apartment.
"Hey, hey. What's up?" Olivia asked as Aurora stepped onto the campus.
"Things are definitely going a good way after this weekend. I was at my uncle's this weekend and I loved it. Now I'm going to continue life. You guys were right. Logan wasn't the one. And I don't think he ever will be. First love never lasts. But I will love someone else like that. I know that for a fact," Aurora said.
"That's the spirit. Where are you sitting?" Olivia asked.
"Classroom 7. With some of my own friends. I can believe it's almost the end of of January again. The year flies past. What are you guys doing this summer?" Aurora asked as they made their way into the building.
"Don't know about anyone else, but I am doing nothing the entire 9 weeks," Olivia said as Aurora got a text and exhaled.
"My plans to visit my mother's family just fell through. Not happening anymore. Amazing. Just amazing. Okay I'll see you later," Aurora said heading into the classroom.
"Morning, Grayson, Wesley, Roman," Aurora said as she laid her bags down next to Wesley.
"What got you so pissed?" Grayson asked.
"I was supposed to go and visit my mother's side of the family during the summer, but my grandfather Joseph just let me know that it won't be happening anymore, so I'm just a bit bummed," Aurora said as Wesley looked at her.
"Go with your parents then. Why do you need to change everything due to what your grandparents say?" Grayson asked.
"Going with my parents isn't an option," Aurora said as Wesley could see she was uncomfortable.
"Why the hell not?" Roman asked.
"Okay guys. We don't have to force her to tell us," Wesley said.
"My father passed away a bit more than a year ago and my brother just murdered my mother and sister including himself during the holidays," Aurora said.
"I'm sorry about that. I really am," Wesley said.
"You guys are fine. I couldn't hide away away from everyone. It's okay to ask questions. Wesley, if you want to ask questions, ask questions. Don't be scared. I'm not going to bite your head off," Aurora said.
"What classes do you have?" Wesley asked as Aurora smiled.
