Fae's Painted Secrets

Chapter 9

It had been 5 days since that night Hobi had come over to your warehouse. And in that time somehow your number had been given to everyone and you'd spent a lot of that time texting them in between work, deliveries and sleep. You had seen Namjoon a couple of times while he would be riding his bike while you were enjoying your spot with a book or your drawing pad. It had been short visits, but they had been full of conversation.

So here it was Thursday, and you were getting dressed to make your final delivery set up for this week. As you were standing outside of your closet you contemplated what to wear. The weather had started to cool down a bit so warmer clothing was a must. Grabbing a pair of black skinny jeans out with a simple black low-cut long-sleeved shirt and your favorite maroon velvet blazer, you quickly dressed. Leaving your hair down in simple waves and doing minimal makeup, you were almost ready. Deciding to go full on dressy, you grabbed your black stiletto heeled ankle boots and called it good.

Once you were finished getting ready, you made your way downstairs to grab your bag and the wrapped canvas and headed out to grab a cab which would take you to your destination. However, you were pleasantly surprised when you found Tae and Kook stepping out of their car. "Well, hello beautiful" Tae said with his signature boxy smile. Smiling widely, you waved to both of them. "Hey Tae, Hey Kookie. You actually just caught me as I was on my way out." You pouted. "Ah well where to? Maybe we can give you a lift?" Kook offered. "I'm just heading to deliver this canvas and then maybe find food" you answered.

"Well hop in, we can drive you and then you can join us for lunch. How does that sound?" Kook asked. You quickly nodded your head and loaded the canvas into the car's trunk and took the front passenger seat while Tae hopped into the back. "Here punch in the address and we'll get you there safely." Kook said while handing over his phone with the GPS pulled up. Quickly typing in the address, you set it into the mount for him. "So, what brings you boys over today?" you finally asked. "We thought we would invite you to lunch with us and the others" Tae answered from the backseat. "Awe, well then this did work out perfectly.

The drive didn't take too long thankfully as you kept a tight grip on the seat under you. They had kept the conversation flowing pretty easily, although it had become stunted the longer Kook drove. Finally arriving to your destination, Kook turned to you with a frown. "Why are we here?" he asked curiously. Frowning back at him in confusion, you tilted your head. "I'm delivering a canvas to a client. Remember? It's in your trunk" you laughed while giving him a funny look. Getting out and retrieving the canvas from the trunk you headed into the building with both of them following you.

Once you were inside and in the elevator, you hit the number 4 and they both laughed. "Okay what am I missing?" you finally asked. "Well, we were going to call the others and have them meet us at a restaurant, but we can just pick them up." Kook said while swallowing his laughter. "Okay, is it far from here?" still not understanding. "Only 3 floors up from where you're going." Tae answered grinning at you. Finally, you caught on. "OH! That's what the reactions were? I'm sorry, were you worried I was stalking you or something?" you joked. "No, nothing like that. Was just slightly confused is all." Kook finally said.

Reaching the floor, you needed you stepped out and looked back at them. "Go ahead and handle your business here, we'll go up and grab the others and meet in the lobby okay?" Tae offered. Nodding quickly, you waved to them and made your way to the apartment door you needed. Knocking on the door it was answered by a heavily pregnant woman with a beaming smile. "Fae! Oh, I've been looking forward to seeing your face all week!" she exclaimed and pulled you into a tight hug. "That's wonderful to hear! Are you ready to see it?" you returned her hug and asked with a wide smile. After releasing you she ushered you in. "Oh absolutely! But first I have something for you" she said while walking off to another room and coming back with something in her hand.
