Harry's POV
"Maria?" My eyes jolted looking directly at the woman standing at Arya's front door. It was her mother. "What are you doing here?" I asked"Harvey right? What am I doing here? What are you doing here is what I should be asking." She smirked "you are standing in my daughters apartment."
"It's Harry." I mumbled
"Oh my god." I turned around to see Arya standing behind me, her eyebrows furrowed as she took a deep breath.
"Hello to you too Arya, lovely little place you have here." Maria sneered, walking in past me
"Don't." Arya sternly said "don't take another step you're not welcome here." She coldly spoke
"Oh please I am your mother I don't need your permission to come in" Maria said as she walked past Arya, her shoulder brushing against Arya's.
"You heard her, get out." Kian now came, walking up to her before she could get in any further.
"What's going on here huh? A party?" Maria spoke, looking around to see the room as well as all the people in the room. "Where'd you get the type of money to afford that?"
Arya sighed once more, I looked over at her nodding slightly to tell her that everything would be okay. When I looked into the lounge I couldn't see Ella.
"Ella?" I mouthed to her
"Mia." She mouthed back. I nodded. Thank god god Mia taking Ella away, she did not need to hear or see any of this.
"Happy birthday Ella" Maria began, reading the giant birthday banner we had hung up, she gasped. "A birthday party for Ella! And you didn't invite me?! Oh how dare you?" She sarcastically said, bitterness dripping off her words.
"What exactly are you doing here? Can we just get this over with so you can leave. It's my daughters birthday and the last thing she needs is any of this-" Maria cut off Arya
"Ah yes your daughter, now where would she be?" She asked slyly
"You don't need to know that" Kian snarked
"Kian I am having a conversation with my daughter, don't you butt in"
"And I'm trying to celebrate my niece, you were the one that butted in." Kian rolled his eyes
"Say who are all these people?" Maria asked, looking over to see my mum and robin both standing next to each other, "oh you two look like you're more my crowd than these guys! What are two middled aged people like yourselves doing at a toddlers birthday party huh?" She asked
My mum looked over at me swiftly, I shook my head hoping she would not say that they were Ella's grandparents.
"Oh us?" Robin spoke up, clearly covering up for my mum who looked just as frantic as I was. "Well we live across from Arya and Ella, so we thought we would pop in" robin awkwardly smiled
"Oh, well I'm Maria's Ella's only grandparent." Maria smiled back. Oh Jesus the irony.
"Im sorry you are anything but" Arya spoke
"Oh could you even try to be nice to me? Why do you have to snark at every single thing I say? I haven't seen you in what, years right? And all you have to do is be stuck up back to me?"
"Exactly, I've not seen you in years so what makes you think you can show up here saying whatever you want to, claiming to be Ella's grandmother. I've said it once and I'll say to again, please, just leave."
"Well if you really want to know..." Maria paused, "my son is getting married, I came here to give you an invite." Maria said, putting her hand in her bag and pulling out a card.
