The announcer yelled through the speaker with such hype about Ash's win that it hurt everyone's ears, but no one cared. Especially Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont. They were full of joy. Ash still stood there not able to speak. Pikachu was now on his shoulder, saying Pikachu over and over and trying to get Ash to celebrate, but Ash was literally frozen. He couldn't believe it. It took about a minute or so until Ash finally smiled and hugged Pikachu out of pure joy, overwhelmed by the win.

They were now back out of the Pokemon League and the gang rejoined Ash. Serena ran up to him and hugged him. She stood there for a moment but then pulled back now embarrassed. "Congrats Ash, you were amazing out there!" Serena blushed.
"Thanks Serena! And thanks for cheering me on too! You were a big help!" Ash exclaimed.
Serena's eyes widened as she stood there confused. Helped? How?

The next day the gang woke up to the smell of Clemont's amazing food. They were stuffed from such a buffet.
"Thank you a lot Clemont! That was really good!" Ash said with thanks. Clemont was sitting down as well joining them and was still eating.
He put his pointer finger in between his eyes and pushed his glasses up. "It was nothing, really!""Um Ash?" Serena turned toward Ash.
"Yeah Serena?"
"What are you gonna do now- I mean now that you've finally reached your goal?" Serena asked worriedly.
"Well I don't think I've thought of that... Maybe-" He stopped. He thought for a long while but he didn't know exactly. "Um, I don't know." Ash said now scratching his head.
"Oh." Said Serena kind of relieved but still very worried if Ash was gonna leave. "Are you-" she also stopped talking in the middle of her sentence, but for a different reason. She didn't want to bring up the question because if she did she was afraid what Ash's answer would be.
"What is it Serena?" Ash looked at her, concerned.
"Oh it's nothing!" Serena hastily said with a fake smile before anything would become suspicious.
"Oh... okay then." Ash said, done with his food and went outside, but Serena didn't notice, she just looked down at her empty plate and felt confused.
。。。。。。。。。。。。
After about 10 minutes of just sitting there, Serena finally got up and went outside. She headed towards the forest and brought out Braixen just in case. She walked in and for about 5 min. followed the path into the forest until finding a stump and sitting on it. She was now really confused. All she thought about was when Ash was going to leave. What would happen when it came too that? She looked at Braixen who looked at her while sitting down next to her.
Before Serena could say anything to Braixen she heard a noise in the bushes and Braixen got up in front of Serena to protect her. Ash came out of the bush and walked out brushing of his clothes to brush off the leaves.
"Ash?" Serena asked now nervous that he was here.
"Oh, hey Serena." Ash said now fully out of the bush and came towards Serena. He then laid on the grass next to the stump Serena was laying on and looked at the stars.
"What are you doing here?" Serena asked curious.
"I don't know I was thinking about what you asked me."
Serena almost let out a sigh. "Oh.."
It was then quiet again until Serena remembered what Ash told her. "Hey Ash, What did you mean yesterday by me being a big help?"
"I meant that you helped me regain my confidence, you have quite a lot actually, like in my gym battles, in fact the only reason I won some of those gym battles was because of you."
Serena blushed at the thought that she was the won to help him win a battle.
"Thanks again Serena for that!" Ash said with a smile. It was a nice warm smile. Serena looked at him and froze. He was starring right at her. She blushed, but it was dark enough that Ash didn't see it. 'He's right here with me. Do something' she thought. But nothing came out of her mouth. It was silent again for a while until Serena remembered something again.
"Hey Ash how did you know that Pokemon was a ground and dragon type?" Serena asked now curious.
"Oh well I remembered a story that I heard at Summer Camp. It was about a Z shaped Pokemon and I remembered that it said it was ground and dragon type, plus it used a very powerful Earthquake like in the story. It was also black and green which I also remember."
Funny, Serena didn't remember that. "I don't remember. But I do know about that Pokemon."
"Really? How?" Asked Ash.
"Well... My dad battled him."
"Wait what?" Ash asked now sitting up.
"Yeah my dad was a Pokemon trainer to tell the truth. He found that Pokemon in a cave. I can't quite remembered what he called it though. He took a picture of it, but then after that he went somewhere else rambling about this other Pokemon, I think that Pokemon's name was Valcanion. After that though I never saw my dad again, we don't know where he is." Serena starred at the stars now, deep in thought. "Hey Ash."
"What is it Serena?"
"Thank you."
"Thanks for what?"
"Thank you for letting me come on your journey with you." Serena said almost teary eyed.
"Well, thanks for coming with me on my journey too, Serena." Ash replied.
Serena looked back down at Ash who now was laying down again starring at the stars. She realized something. "Ash-" She hesitated. "Are- Are you going back to Pallet town?" Tears started to form and fall down her cheeks. Serena kept looking at the stars hoping Ash didn't notice.
"Probably." Ash said flatly.
She felt her throat get clogged, her heart drop. More tears fell down. She was gonna ask something but her throat was to clogged to speak. She let it pass. 'I'll just ask tomorrow.' She thought still full of emotional waves of her adventures with her Pokemon, the gang, and Ash. But she managed to make out two words that Ash couldn't hear, only a mumble,
"Thank You"
