Is It Jealousy?

Ash looked at Serena. She was crying. "What's wrong Serena?"

Serena still couldn't talk, still not able to speak through the crying. it started to sprinkle, then rain. It rained hard and Serena retrieved Braixen back into its pokeball, then ran under a tree which barely made anything better. Ash got up and looked around but he couldn't find the trail. It was either too hard to see or they traveled to far from the road. "Serena I don't see the path from here can you?" Ash yelled through the rain.

Serena looked around with rain being torn in the wind, it was too blurry and she couldn't she anything. "No, I can't see a thing!"

"Follow me we'll have to find shelter until this rain settles down!" Ash moved into the forest with Serena behind him.

It was still dark which made it even harder to see. They walked around blindly. Serena leaned closer to Ash which made her feel safer.

"Serena, I see something up ahead!"

Serena looked to the left and saw something. With her hat protecting her eyes in the rain, she saw a dim light in the distance. She studied it closer this time seeing where the light came from. As they walked closer they could she that it was a cave, but someone else was there. She started to walk faster. "Calem!", She waved.

"Serena, is that you? It's nice to see you!" The boy in the cave immediately hugged her when she finally reached the cave. Ash felt something weird but he didn't know what it was.

Ash thoughts started to wondered, 'Are they? No they can't be.'

When Serena pulled away she saw someone else. It was a girl. She had orange, short hair and she wore yellow shorts that almost looked like a skirt. She also wore a yellow short tank top with a red shirt under it covering her stomach. The girl jumped up in excitement and hugged Ash, rapping her hands around his neck. Serena felt like someone stabbed her in the heart. She could of swore she winced.

"Ash, oh my gosh I haven't seen you in forever!" She pulled back and put her hands on his shoulders.

"Wow, your looking good Misty! Why are you here?" Ash laughed.

Serena winced again. He wore a big smile to show off how happy he was to she this girl, Misty. This time she felt like someone stab the other side of her chest and then back to her heart. Her smile turned into a frown. 'Are they? No, no they can't... Can they?' Her mind was almost like they planned on playing with her and making her think things between Ash and Misty which brought more pain. She almost felt like crying but she couldn't, not in front of these people.

"Serena where have you been? You've changed! You got a new haircut and even a new outfit!" Calem said with a friendly voice. Serena didn't seem to say anything. "I thought you would of caught up to me, but I didn't expect you to be this late!" Calem taunted her.

"Well then your mistaken, my goal was never to catch up to you. You should know that." Serena almost spit at him saying this.

Calem was now confused. "What do you mean? I was only kidding. This isn't how you usually act. Is everything ok?"

Serena looked away and starred at Misty and Ash talking. She wondered what they were talking about, but then she timidly looked away hastily. Serena sat by the fire, to dry her hair and clothing. Calem looked at her still confused and then sat next to her. It was quite for a while. Calem looking at the fire and once in a while Serena would look up to look at Ash and Misty. Talking to each other. Ash still wore a gigantic smile every time she looked up and every time she did, another stabbing came at her. The pain was unbearable.

Calem seemed to notice. "Hey Serena, remember when we were little and showed me your Ryhorn?"

Serena still didn't smile and nodded.

"Well then do you remember, the next day when I snuck over and decided to ride it? Man, that Ryhorn was mad at me."

Serena turned at him. "He wasn't mad at you, you scared him. He was sleeping when you jumped on him, I saw it."

"Yep, and then I went flying and you came out yelling at me! Man those were the times!"

Serena blushed remembering the memory.

"Oh and then remember after that when you tried to make me apologize and give him an apple, he sneezed right in my face which sent me flying."

Serena smiled and then made out a giggle which turned into a laugh. "Yeah and then you just laid there with the funniest face I've ever seen!" Calem joined in the laughter looking back in the times they spent together.

Ash was talking to Misty when she noticed Calem and Serena laughing. He looked behind Misty and looked at Serena laugh. 'She has a cute laugh.' He thought, but then he saw her blush. This made him step back a little as if it was offensive. He turned back to Misty. "Hey Misty let me introduce you to my friend, she's been traveling with me here in Kalos." He walked over to the camp fire with Misty following. 'Friend? Why does that word make me feel weird. Maybe I should of said best friend.' He thought.

"Misty, this is Serena! Serena this is, Misty!" Ash motioned his hand to both of them as he introduced both of them.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Misty said.

"Nice to meet you too." Serena said back, having a stinging pain in her chest while saying it.

But then after that everything went back to the way once they arrived. Calem made Serena feel better and Misty talked to Ash about why she was there. "I heard that Wallace, you know the guy from hoenn, was here and I came over to see a show. I heard about him on T.V and I immediately took a plane and came here!"

"Really Wallace? Who would of thought he would be here in Kalos!" Ash replied.

Ash kept looking back when he heard Serena laugh. He didn't know why he kept looking, but he did.

Serena was happy and laughed while Calem told him about their childhood. For some reason it was even funnier looking back at how young and stupid they were. She remembered when Calem left. He moved to another city that she couldn't recall, but it was far and she never saw him again. He said once he got there he would become a Pokemon Trainer. It looked like what he said was the truth. He told Serena that he had a Charizard, Greninja, Aegislash, and a Tyrunt.

After talking and getting to know each other again they all sat near the fire. Calem still talked to Serena making her laugh and giggle. Ash stayed quite but sometimes looked over and saw Serena happy. Misty started to talk to Ash again once in a while since it got to an awkward silence sometimes.

Serena also sometimes looked over Calem's shoulder spying Misty talk to Ash with Ash wearing that warm, friendly smile again. She felt this feeling but she didn't know what it was. It was as if she was angry at something, almost helpless. She wanted to talk to Ash and talk about their journeys together. 'Is this the jealousy?' Her mind asking her things she didn't intend on talking about in her own head again. She shook it off at times and listened to Calems story telling of his adventures. Soon it turned really late and the rain was still coming down, maybe even harder then before.

Everyone went to bed except for Serena. She laid awake and eventually got up and sat down in front of the opening of the cave. You could see the moon now. The rain now turned into sprinkles and she wondered if she should wake up Ash and leave, but everyone was sleeping so she didn't bother. She looked at the moon which gave off a blue, bleeding light throughout the forest and through the sky. It was a full moon and you could see the littlest details and textures on the moon. It was beautiful and Serena couldn't stop looking at it.

Ash woke up to the sound of someone getting up. He turned around and saw Serena get up and sit down at the entrance of the cave. It was a really pretty night and he saw the moon which lit up the night with its fluorescent rays of light. The wind blew and Serena's hair blew with it with the mix of rain it made an amazing image. Ash watched and felt something in his chest. It was a good warm feeling. He heard his heart beat rapidly at times and then slow, but he didn't pay attention to it. He kept watching her until eventually he fell asleep still looking into the night and still gazing at Serena.
