At Hope's Peak Academy, there was never a dull moment with a whole gaggle of students with lots of talent and too much time on their hands. Finding all of those students and collecting their stories was both Nikei's job and talent, what he thought he was born to do.

Of course, his classmates liked making activities and events to participate in as an excuse to hang out, and Nikei often attending to either turn those events into stories for his next article or party with the first people he would ever consider 'friends.'

Sometimes, those people came to see him before he could go to them. Most notably, Sora liked visiting all of her classmates and talking with them, learning about them, and sometimes giving them gifts. Everyone knew of her habits, and they humoured her because she wasn't actively malicious unless she was incredibly annoyed or angered. Yuri and Nikei had been personal targets of her wrath before, and those resulted in bruises.

When Sora came to visit him today, Nikei smiled and put down his notepad to let her talk to him. She had been trying to get him a hobby recently, and they had tried an assortment of things that Nikei wasn't particularly good at. Not being able to be good at them made Nikei infuriated at himself, but he tried to not outwardly show it.

He wasn't surprised that she gave him a gift, but she gave him an energy drink this time. He had been needing a quick boost of energy recently since he was sure that the caffeine provided from his instant coffee had run out, so he downed the can in one go, thinking nothing of it at first.

As he began to talk with her as the minutes passed, he found that not only did he seemed more energetic, but he was losing his focus and finding even the smallest things funny. He kept wandering into his thoughts, somehow getting stuck on the smallest details and creating potential stories in his brain with them.

"Nikei? You're zoning out again," Sora suddenly cut into his thoughts, getting his attention back. "Are you alright? I think maybe you should lie down or something."

"No, no, I'm fine! I don't exactly feel sleepy right now, don't worry about me!" Nikei reassured, though Sora looked like she hadn't bought it at all.

While they spoke, Yoruko came over to see Sora. "There you are! I was looking all over for you!" she exclaimed. She then looked over at Nikei, looking confused and a little concerned. "What's up with him?"

"Rude," Nikei huffed, looking away from her.

"I'm not sure, but he wasn't like this before I started talking to him." Sora had a troubles expression as she began recalling what happened. "I wanted to see if he wanted to come over to the library with me, I gave him a drink, and then we started talking about Shinji breaking the pool table by-"

"Wait, what kind of drink?" Yoruko interrupted.

"It was an energy drink, it tasted pretty good too!" Nikei chimed in, and Yoruko's confusion melted away into irritation. "She said that the drink machine gave her two instead of just one, so she gave me the other one. At least it's making up for the caffeine in me running out."

Yoruko facepalmed and shook her head. "I thought we agreed to never give him stuff like that! Not after the incident with the firepit!" she scolded, and Sora had the awareness to look at least a little bit ashamed. "I'm taking him back to his dorm."

"Wait, noooo! I agreed to go to the library with Sora! Who the hell made you my mother anyway?!" Nikei protested as Yoruko grabbed him by the arm, and Sora watched the hostess drag the taller journalist away.

It took a little while with Nikei trying to resist being dragged into the building where all of the students lived, but they eventually made it to his own dorm and got inside. "What the hell, it's a mess in here!" the hostess remarked as she went inside and looked around, still holding the sugar-rushed journalist.

"Let me goooo!" Nikei whined childishly, and Yoruko obliged with a sigh. Nikei rubbed his sore arm, she had a strong grip on him. "...Why are we here again? I'm supposed to be with Sora. Or did you just want to see my dorm. Well, now you've seen it, so let's go-"

"Not a chance. I'm calling Hajime to come over, just go sit down or something," she told him, turning on her student handbook as he whined. Even though she really didn't care how he lived his life, she knew that Hajime was more organized than she was and could also help clean up Nikei's dorm too.

Nikei complaints reached her like a rock against a brick wall, but when he realized this, he just quietly grumbled and quieted down. Yoruko looked over at him and sighed. She couldn't stand the journalist, but she hoped that he'd get the help he needed.
