I WAS walking to the nearest coffee shop to get some coffee after I had just gotten from my parent's house, visiting my 15 year old sister Mei like I do every other day. My love Mei is whole, she's my sister, I try protect her from anything bad because I wouldn't want her to end up like my mother, stuck in a marriage with a husband who does nothing else but eat and watch baseball, or worse. 

Don't get me wrong I love my mother, but I almost feel.. bad for her, if I were her I'd be gone in a heartbeat. Although it may not be that easy.

Walking up to the cashier I ordered my usual latte and sat down next to a window watching the raindrops race down as someone sat across from me "Hey." The guy spoke with a smile and I furrowed my eyes in confusion "Hello, may I help you?" I asked as he chuckled.

"I'm Yugo, what's a pretty woman like you doing here?" He asked and I sighed as I looked outside "Getting coffee." "Yeah, I, I can see that. But I meant, don't you have a boyfriend?" He boldly said as I scoffed and looked at him "I don't need a man, just leave me alone." He stood up and scoffed as he rushed away.

"Men.." I mumbled finishing my coffee and throwing it away holding my bag as I walked into the women's restroom to wash my hands.

While I took off my ring and placed it in my bag for secure reasons I washed my hands as suddenly the power went out which made me jump slightly.

"What the.." I dried my hands and quickly walked outside I noticed something funny. There was no one here. "Uhm, hello?" I shouted for someone to hear but there was no response, I reached into my bag to get my phone but as I turned it on, nothing happened.

"Oh my god, what the fuck is this." I sighed as I pushed open the doors of the Starbucks I was in and I walked onto the streets.

There was no one, no sign of life, nothing. The only thing heard was the wind through the buildings and the paper trash. Standing on the streets I thought to myself, I figured I would just look around so I turned around but as soon as I did a bright white light glowed and I turned back around to see a huge screen with the words 'WELCOME, PLAYERS. THE GAME WILL COMMENCE IN A MOMENT.' displayed.

"This is freaking me out oh my lord.." I looked to my right and saw a red light glowing bright thought the now empty city buildings, my first instinct was to follow it, so I did.

The walk was almost.. peaceful? No rude people bumping into you, no men harassing girls and no loud noises.

Finally arriving there, I saw a big building with a little open space at the front where people stood. "People?" I mumbled confusingly walking towards them. Passing through the archway I heard a quiet 'ding!' but I didn't think much of it.

"Uh, Hello?" I spoke trying to catch anyone's attention "Could any of you explain to me what the fuck is happening?" I asked as they looked me up and down, but didn't say anything. I scoffed "Wow, okay." Leaning against a wall "Pick up a phone." One of the girls looked at me hesitantly as I scrunched my eyebrows and did what she told me to.

Picking up one of the phones I inspected it "What is this for?" I asked but was interrupted by a sound and a robotic voice.

'REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. THE GAME WILL NOW COMMENCE. GAME, CHASE. DIFFICULTY, 4 OF SPADES. RULE, SLOW YOUR OPPONENTS DOWN BY RUNNING OVER THE SPECIAL PATHS ON THE COURSE. CLEAR CONDITION, REACH THE FINISH LINE FASTER THAN YOUR OPPONENTS, THE 5 SLOWEST WILL DIE.'

'Okay, that's not scary at all.' I thought as an elevator opened and everyone swarmed in, not going to be the odd one out I followed them as I heard some mumbles behind me "Guys, we will definitely outrun at least half of them, they're girls anyway." He spoke full of confidence.
