THE ENDING WHERE THEY DO REMEMBER EVERYTHING FROM THE BORDERLANDS

I WAS washing my hands as I looked at myself in the mirror.

I sighed and dried them when I put my ring back on and grabbed my bag.

Walking through the filled cafe I looked outside to see the commotion on the streets.

Three guys were spinning around without a care in the world as they caused two cars to bump into each other.

They ran away and I slightly shook my head when fireworks appeared.

I furrowed my eyebrows when after a while they didn't look like fireworks anymore.

"Ma'am! Ma'am, can you hear me?"

I slowly opened my eyes with a huge headache.

"Check her vitals!"

"She's breathing!"

"She's alive! We need a stretcher!"

"Resume CPR. Okay."

"We need a gurney here! Now! Hurry!"

"Misa?" A familiar voice said and my eyes shot open when I blinked a few times to adjust to the lighting.

I looked at the figure in front of me immediately tearing up "Mei.." I smiled as she went to hug me.

"You don't know how hard I've fought to get back to-" "I was so scared Misa, the doctors said that when they finally found your body, your heart had completely stopped.." She cried as I scrunched my eyebrows up in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I looked at her.

"A whole minute went by. They said that for that minute, the borderlands had taken you." She said with a chuckle.

That..?

That was a minute? It couldn't have been.. 

"Was I in a coma?" I asked her uncertainly and she laughed.

"No silly, you were just sleeping." I shook my head slightly.

Was it a dream..? No wait, you don't get hurt in your dream..

Maybe I.. made it all up..? 

I had so many questions, so many questions that had been left unanswered. If I did make it up, were the people in my imagination made up as well? Was Chishiya, made up?

"Hello? Earth to Misa." Mei waved in front of my face "Where did you go with your head?" She chuckled.

I looked at her and back down and I threw the blankets off my body as I stood up, I tumbled back on the bed when I noticed the crutches.

But that wasn't the only thing I noticed when I looked down, I had cuts all over me on all the same places as before.

"Misa, what are you doing?"

"I have to clear my mind I-" I took the crutches under my arms when I limped toward the window and looked outside.

I turned toward my sister but it was only then I noticed the thing in her hands.

"What's that?" I asked her as she smiled.

"The doctors said it was laying beside you when they found you, they figured it was yours. I never took you for a hat person."

Tatta's hat.

I turned around quickly heading for the door "Where are you going, you should rest. Mom will be back soon." Mei said and I shook my head.

"I'll be fine, I really need to clear my head, Mei. I'll be back before you know it." I said limping through the door into the hallway.

I looked into rooms trying to find anyone who even remotely looked like someone I had seen.

I needed to know if I was the only one.

After half an hour of looking into rooms, restrooms and more I reached the main floor losing more hope by the second.

I walked through all the people scanning their faces but nothing.

I reached the garden and I sat down on one of the benches when it was only when I was comfortably sat I spotted something, I spotted someone.

Him.

My eyes slightly widened as I grabbed the crutches and limped toward the person quickly.

I was about to tap his shoulder until I thought to myself.

I wasn't even sure if he knew as well, what if he was someone I saw once in my life and my brain just imagined him there?

I took my hand back and turned around, I was not about to embarrass myself like that.

'I'm sorry but have we participated in deadly games together and hooked up in a mall?'

Yeah no.

But something was holding me back, something was telling me I should.

Should I? Is it worth the try?

"Misa?"

I turned around to the source of the voice.

"Chishiya?" I looked at him and he smiled slightly.

He walked closer to me and carefully put his arms around me "I wasn't sure if it was you." He breathed into my neck.

"Don't worry, it's me." I held onto him tightly as if he was gonna disappear again.

She was never looking for love,
love just happened to find her.

He pulled away and I looked into his eyes as my gaze shifted toward his lips but before I could even move an inch he placed his lips on top of mine and I melted into the kiss.

I smiled through it as I pulled away and laughed slightly.

"What's the matter?" He smirked.

"It's like you're a whole different person here." I said with a wide smile.

"And you looked for me." I smiled.

"I promised, didn't I Misa?"
