"DO YOU think this place is alright?" I asked Chishiya as we walked into a mall giving me nostalgia to when I first looked for a place to sleep.

"Yeah, it's alright, quite cold though.." He said and I grinned "Id rather be cold than get murdered."

"I suppose you're right, let's go." He agreed and we walked up some broken escalators.

"Let's look for blankets so we have something to sleep on and under, I'm not trying to get a sore back tomorrow." I chuckled as we went into a store that seemed to have household items.

We roamed around looking for anything that was worth sleeping on as I collected a few large cushions and a blanket.

"What have you got?" I asked Chishiya as he walked over with a blanket "Seriously, that's the best you could do?" I tilted my head.

"Do you want it or not?" He asked annoyed and I grinned "Yes, come here."

We set everything up and I sat down on of the cushions.

"God, it is cold." I said as I took some food out of my pockets and I watched him eye it as I chuckled "You want something?" I grinned.

"No, I'm full already." He said and I looked at him confused "Oh come on, you haven't eaten since-" I said stopping my sentence and I looked at him.

"Now I get it.. you ate too many of those damn biscuits, no wonder you're full." I laughed as he looked away.

"Empty your pockets." I said and he turned back to me "What?" "Empty your pockets, there is no way you did not take any of those damn things with you." I said and he shook his head.

"I'm not emptying my pockets." He said and I scooted over to him as I reached into his pockets.

He looked at me annoyed but amused and didn't bother to try and get me off of him as I took out 4 packets in total.

"Oh my god, I knew it." I said laughing.

It was only then I noticed the position I was in, half straddled as he looked up at me and I quickly got off but he stopped me.

"Those are mine." He said taking his biscuits back.

I quickly cleared my throat as I sat back down on the cushion and we ate in silence for a while.

I hadn't noticed it but at that moment, I felt at peace. I felt safe.

I felt safe..? Safe with him? Safe with the guy who almost sacrificed me for his own good? Is that who I felt safe with?

Or was it the feeling of having someone with me that made me feel safe.

No, I hadn't realized it but I was falling in love with him, and that was dangerous. 

There's no place for love in borderlands, it will only slow me down, yet I still felt safe with him right there.

And I wouldn't want him to die.

"You know what's funny." I chuckled slightly as I looked up at the man in white on the opposite of me.

He looked up "What?" I brought my knees to my chin for comfort "We could die tomorrow, and we wouldn't even know it."

He grinned as I blew warm breath in my hands to warm them up, it was quite cold at night.

"I'm tired, let's set everything up." I stood up as he did as well and we set everything up only a few feet from each other.
