Taehyung got off the bus and headed towards the Itaewon district, where his friends' bar was located. He paused at the traffic lights, waiting for the signal to go on. Instinctively, he took his cell phone from his black jeans pocket and, glancing at the display, slipped it back into place. It was close to ten, but he was almost there, so he wasn't going to rush it too much. As he guessed, Yoongi and Hoseok were probably already in the bar. But he wasn't too worried about it. Earlier, he had called Seokjin, his friend who also owned the bar he was heading to, and told him he would come over today with the guys. Whenever he did, Seokjin would make a reservation for them at their favorite table, even though it usually wasn't such a problem to find a seat, it was a small tradition that they always sat there.

Awake, that was the name of their bar, was not usually very full. It was a very cozy place, and he thought it had a lot of potential, but in a neighborhood like Itaewon it was hard to break out. The more that his friend was a fan of rather heavier sounds, and it was such songs that usually sounded from the speakers. There was also no dance floor in the place, for which he always thanked himself, because he himself was never one of the party animals. He never found himself in big clubs, among dancing crowds and loud disco beats. He definitely preferred places where he could just sit, have a drink and just hang out with his friends, listening to good music. And while he preferred intimate pubs, he knew that his friend was worried that with such strong competition, he would eventually be forced to close his place. If he could, he would have helped him somehow, but he was not sure what could actually be done to be more popular in such a district.

The bar had a small stage, so they sometimes joked that maybe there should be some karaoke nights that were always popular in Seoul. However, the vision of adolescents under the influence of percentages screaming into the microphone, believing they were another rock star, was daunting enough. So they preferred to enjoy a more intimate company, or at least not to expose themselves to a headache or permanent damage to health caused by pseudo-artists singing out of tune.

As the light turned green, Taehyung slipped his hands into the pockets of his black bomber jacket and ran quickly through the crosswalk. He knew that as soon as Hoseok saw him, he would probably criticize his outfit, but he didn't care too much about it. He didn't have to be attractive to anyone. So he preferred to wear something he felt comfortable wearing. As a result, he wore black skinny jeans, heavy ankle boots and a plain white V-neck T-shirt. He had tucked his slightly longer hazel-brown hair back and hid it behind a black baseball cap, the peak of which had turned back, making his dark eyes now clearly visible. The white T-shirt accentuated his swarthy skin, making it seem even darker.

He took the next block extremely quickly, even though he was in no hurry. He was used to the fact that he usually walked quickly, taking long, springy steps. This time it was also like that. He neatly passed people who were walking in groups towards the numerous bars and clubs to spend the evening dancing and drinking. When he finally saw the alley that led to his friend's bar, he exhaled with relief. He ran across the narrow street, looking around so as not to accidentally run into an oncoming car, and headed for the bar. Usually, there was almost no one in front of the entrance, but this time he noticed a group of young people standing in a line at the entrance. He frowned in surprise. He definitely hadn't expected this. For a moment, he even wondered if he'd really turned into the right alley. Perhaps in the dark he mistook the well-known path? He knew the chances of that were low, but he slowed his pace, hesitating, and looked around carefully to make sure he was definitely going the right path. But one look was enough to reassure him that he was certainly on the right track, and he started forward again.
