Jeongguk had lost his mind.
He must have gone crazy if he was still here.
He didn't know what had happened the night before, but surely something important must have happened. Something that changed him. When he found out while he was still at Awake that Taehyung was a police officer, he told himself that after all, he was on the job, he had simply been hired to make a birthday evening pleasant, and it meant nothing. He was only supposed to perform for the invited guests and then leave the bar as if nothing had happened. Instead, he not only played at his birthday party, but also sang for him. He then told himself that he would wish him a happy birthday and disappear before anyone knew he was even there, but he saw the way San looked at him, and then he gave him his number, and he couldn't bear the thought that Taehyung might spend the night in the young bartender's arms. So without a second thought, he took from his hand the piece of paper with the number San had given him and threw it away, and invited him to spend the night with him.
Their last night together.
At least that's what he told himself as they drove through Seoul shrouded in darkness, and then as he hurriedly stripped off his clothes, kissing his parted lips. He made love to him as if there was to be no tomorrow, explaining to himself that it was so that he could remember what it felt like to be with him, so that he could recall it in his memories even when he was left completely alone. When Taehyung revealed to him that he was chasing him, he told himself that he would get out of here as soon as he opened his eyes, and then he looked at those of the police officer and was unable to do so.
He stayed, even though he knew it was a real madness.
And he was still here.
After they caressed each other on the couch in the policeman's living room, they still lay in each other's embrace for a long time, simply enjoying the warmth of their naked bodies. Jeongguk savored this slow, gentle kiss, wandering his hands over his lover's smooth, caramel-colored skin, and thoughts of breaking up completely disappeared somewhere, as did the whole world around them. And as they lay together on the couch like this, the musician wanted only one thing.
He wanted to stay here, in this moment forever.
Only much later did Taehyung suggest they take a shower. They slipped into the cabin together. They did not make love. Their hands only glided over the curves of their bodies as they explored each other, soaping their bodies with citrus-scented gel. They were silent, not breaking eye contact. There was something strangely intimate about it, much more intimate than the sex they had the night before. A voice in the back of his head told him he shouldn't, but Jeongguk gave in to it, enjoying the closeness. It was a new level of intimacy between them, but he let it consume him with its power and passion.
And now he was in his bedroom, his skin smelled of his shower gel, and he was wearing his clothes. What's more, Taehyung was lying on the bed with him, on his back, while the fingertips of Jeongguk's left hand marked intricate patterns on the policeman's stomach, and his lips kissed his lips. He kissed him slowly, tenderly, sensually, as if all the time in the world belonged to them. His eyes closed so he could lose himself in this caress. Their lips moved in perfect synchrony, as if they were made to join in passionate kisses. He knew he couldn't last in this moment forever, no matter how much he wanted to, but nothing else mattered now.
