Narrator Pov:

Over the next week, Darcy worked tirelessly on getting Monica out of the hex. Sometimes she thought she was the only one who cared about getting her out of the red hexagonal prison they were in. Everyone else at the base were surprised and suspicious about why she was working so much harder than everyone else. Why did she never sleep, instead choosing to drink endless amounts of coffee?

The only other person that was even close to as hard working as Darcy was Jimmy Woo. They were always seen beside Darcy, helping her on research. The only time they weren't by her side, was when they were getting coffee for her.

Darcy POV:

"I just don't understand it, Jim! Why did the hex not want you to enter? There must be something special or different about her that allowed them to enter the hex. In fact, according to you, they seemed to be sucked in!"

"I know, that's the main issue here! If we could somehow get access to their medical records, we may be able to find out why she got pulled in, but without them, it's basically pointless guesswork!" Jimmy responded.

"What are you two still doing up?" A voice from behind asked, making me jump out of my chair. "I understand being invested in the case, but we're not getting any closer. There's no point in staying up all night and all day! You know what, I want you two off my base. He is constan-"

"They." I say venomously.

"Fine. They are constantly spending the company's money on expensive coffee breaks. And you are often seen sneaking around the medical tent. I don't know what you're doing there, but you're getting suspicious. I want you both off my base. NOW." He says.
