chapter 5

After training finishes for the day tobias and I have a quick look at the pairings for tomorrows fights, we change only 2 of the pairings and head to bed...

"wake up" I shout, making the group, and tobias, jump out of their skin. they all snap back to attention. although they've been out of bed for 2 hours they still cant keep their eyes open. were they really that tired after yesterdays hard work?

"thank you. now that I have your full attention I will tell you what we will do today" I say

"nooo" I hear a couple of initiates mumble so I shoot them a glare

"yeeessss" I hear a mumble again

"any way... you will be starting hand-to-hand combat, so this means you will be fighting each other" there are a few gasps and tommy's face turns pale

"you will fight until you cant continue" tobias jumps in "or until one of you concedes"

"the rules that were set 2 years ago state that no one concedes" comes a low masculine voice from behind, please say its not him. the initiates turn around and clear a path for the person to walk towards us. Eric.

"you should remember that four" Eric says "you of all people should" out of the corner of my eye I can see the muscles in Tobias's arms contract. please don't.

"well aren't you going to introduce me" Eric hisses at me

"don't you dare talk to her like that" tobias says in a low and threatening voice

"to-four it's okay" I whisper "initiates, this is Eric" I say "Eric these are the transfers, Eric is a leader of dauntless"

and is a d**k to kids and grown ups, has murderous tendencies and after 1 minute with him you want to kick his balls so hard that they go up his butt.

"you need to show hi some respect" is what I end up finishing with

"good, I will be watching todays training" Eric says to no one in particular, making it more of an announcement. he walks over to a table and char over in the corner of the room and sits down.

"anyway tris will write your pairings on the board, we have paired you according to your rank and skill you have shown so far" tobias gestures the board and I go and write the fights. a huge twang of guilt ripping at my chest when I pick the chalk up.

the fights are:

Killian v Alistair

Rachel v Harry

Emy v Tommy

Finn v Tess

killian and Alistair look at each other once and step into the ring and get ready the fight. before they start I see Alistair mouth 'im sorry' and killian mouths 'me too'. the fight begins.
