Happy charged into the clubhouse and straight back toward the apartment with Tig slowly bringing up the rear. There was a good chance Parker would run but that was fine, killing him then would only end with Happy in a jail cell.
"He said you wanted it. You think I'm cheating so you wanted to get even!"
As soon as Rory laid eyes on Happy he was raging. "That's not true." She said quietly. "I did think you cheated but not anymore." It was almost eerie how calm she was but it was only because of how exhausted the entire ordeal made her.
"Did he hurt you?" Happy was no longer yelling but the rage burned in his eyes for Rory to see.
She shrugged. "He didn't hit me but he was rough."
"I'll take care of it." He grumbled, sinking down on the bed beside her.
"Yeah." She stood as he sat. "I'm sure you will."
"Rory," Happy called out as she moved toward the door.
"I'm tired." She snapped. "I'm so tired of this and of your bullshit. I need some fucking time, Hap. Your reaction was beyond insane even for you."
He nodded, kicking his boots off and instead of feeling remorse Happy felt hatred toward her and everyone else. It was meant for himself but Happy projected it quickly and easily.
"I'll crash here."
"Yeah. You should."
Slamming the door after her Rory bumped into Tig in the hall. "It got quiet," he explained, "Wanted to make sure you didn't kill each other."
"Just emotionally I think." She forced a smile as they walked outside together and back toward her car as a few women lingered outside.
With the threats at Cara Cara, Ima and the others spent more time than usual on the lot much to the chagrin of the old ladies. They used it to their advantage, flirting with and latching onto the members, but Jenna was a welcomed sight for Happy. When she had seen Rory storming off with Tig she waited a safe amount of time then grabbed a beer and sneaked down toward the apartment.
"Hey," she didn't knock. "I thought you could use a beer."
Happy downed the beer, chugging it quickly, before pushing Jenna against the wall. "This stays between us."
"Of course," she grinned as she pulled her top off.
—
"I don't know what I did." Rory sighed. "He's such as asshole Tig, more the usual." Listening but remaining quiet Tig paced the living room as Rory unloaded on him. "I hate this. He knows all he has to do is open his mouth. We've been together for years! I don't get how he hasn't realized it. He knows this is the shit that always gives us problems but he won't say anything to me."
Tig nodded, sitting on the arm of the couch, and took a deep breath. "I can say something but this is Happy's M.O. usually."
"Not with me, not usually and if it is then I can't do it. I worked my ass off to get him to open up, he can do it, he's just," she paused to find the right word.
"He's fucking proud." Tig said quietly. "And probably scared. My old lady, the one I really loved, scared the shit out of me every day we were together."
"What do I do?" She asked him with a pathetic look on her face as she began to cry.
"I don't know. Tell him?"
Rory nodded, knowing that was the only thing she could do, and pointed to the door. "You should chaperone."
"Yeah. We got a prospect on Parker's house so we know when he runs." Tig gave her a hug and while it wasn't Happy, Rory smiled at the sensation.
"Keep him safe, Tig, please."
"Always, girl."
—
"Ah shit." Tig groaned walking into the apartment to see Jenna bent over as Happy unleashed his aggression and rage on her. He turned his eyes but stayed put signaling to Happy that play time was over.
Jenna laughed and moved away, covering herself with a sheet, but she was far from embarrassed. Tig could see how proud she was. "What? At least my back isn't all fucking gnarly." She spat hatefully as Tig stated at them in disgust.
"What did you say?" Happy asked with his eyes locked on her as he slipped his boxers back on.
"It was a joke."
"My wife ain't a fucking joke." He barked. "Get dressed and get the fuck out."
"Happy, I was just-"
"Get. Out."
Tig pointed toward the door and nodded. "Now. Get the fuck outta here and don't come back." She scurried away, terrified, and Tig shut the door. "You know man, I don't give a shit about blow jobs and fucks on runs, but this shit ain't right."
"No?" He looked over as he buckled his belt.
"No and it ain't my business but I just had to fucking listen to her cry about how much she loves you."
Happy hated when Tig suddenly became respectable and self righteous. "You never tapped a crow eater when you were with your kids' mom?"
"Oh shit, I did." Tig laughed a little. "But not the old lady I really fucking loved. Maybe once on a run or I got sucked off by some slut but she knew that was the life. Rory, Tara, the young ones don't buy that shit, they aren't okay with it."
"When are you the goddamn reasonable one?"
"I like Rory, she's a good girl." Tig admitted. "And I don't feel like dealing with you when she leaves your fucking ass for being an idiot."
"Me and Ror are fine." He said finally fully dressed. "You coming to Parker's?"
Tig grinned excited to put his speech to rest. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
