Rory went home after her and Johnny went over how the two would meet and exactly what he was to find out. She didn't want to go, the hours she'd been gone made her feel lighter, but she missed Emma. When she arrived it was late but Emma was still up, she and Happy were lounging on the couch with Beauty and the Beast on the television.
"Mommy!" Emma flew off of the couch and to the door as Rory dropped her purse on the entryway table.
"I missed my girl!" Rory declared excitedly. "I'm so happy you're still awake! It's late though baby," she eyed Happy, "Shouldn't you be asleep?"
"Me and Daddy took a long nap." She giggled and whispered in Rory's ear, "Actually Daddy slept, I watched TV."
It wasn't surprising, when Happy was home he slept as long as he could. After Emma took her brief nap, Rory figured he probably brought her in bed with him and put the TV on.
"That sounds like Daddy, doesn't it?"
Emma nodded with a silly giggle before jumping back on the couch. "Sit Mommy, watch Belle with us!"
"Honey, I'm beat. I think I should go to bed. I didn't get to sleep as long as you two today."
"Please Mommy?"
Happy's eyes burned holes in her but she refused make eye contact with him. "Yeah, come on Mommy." He grumbled as he patted the empty spot beside him.
"Fine. Just for you, Em."
It didn't take long for the girl to fall asleep after Rory settled beside Happy. It was some cruel joke, she was sure of it, but she couldn't deny Emma time with the family together. It was rare even when Rory didn't hate Happy.
"Where'd you go?" He asked quietly.
"To see Johnny and bitch about you."
"Sure he loved that shit." The emotional change in him was palpable and Rory felt him tense physically.
"Actually he didn't. He doesn't like when I'm upset."
It took a lot for her not to tell Happy that she'd kissed Johnny or had begged him to sleep with her. Sure, it would hurt him but in long run it would only hurt Johnny much worse.
"Ror," Happy shifted Emma from his lap. "This shit has to stop."
"Did you fuck her?" She asked, her bottom lip wobbling, begging for for the truth. "Please stop lying to me."
"Yeah."
It happened so quickly Rory nor Happy believed he'd actually said it. She blinked once before nodding and removing herself from such close proximity.
"Just her?"
"No. Some chick in Indian Hills."
Her face went gray, her hands shaking as she went for the steps.
"Rory," Happy stumbled as he tried to hurry after her. "It didn't mean anything. I was pissed."
"Okay." Eerily calm she took the steps and headed into their bedroom to pack a bag. "I'll get Emma in the morning."
"You're not going anywhere." He said firmly. "I'll go to the clubhouse."
She turned to look him in the eye, her cheeks pale and wet with tears. "Why are you telling me now?"
"You didn't believe me lying," he said with a sullen chuckle. "It was fucking you up anyway."
Grabbing the handgun from her too drawer she aimed it at his chest. "I hate you. This isn't only hurting me you're hurting our kids, even the ones that aren't here yet."
With his hands raised he nodded along with her words. "You gonna shoot me?"
"No." Her arm fell to her side. "I wouldn't want to take you from Emma and I love you, still, like some fucking idiot." Breaking down, she sobbed into her hands, and managed to mumble a bit. "Thank you for telling me."
"Rory, I love you."
"No, you don't." Suddenly her sorrow turned to rage and she ran at him, whipping him across the mouth with the butt of the gun. "I wish I could kill you."
Happy moved back, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, and nodded. "You should give me the gun." She was too erratic and he was truly scared for her own safety of she accidentally pulled the trigger. When he said it she dropped it to the ground and with her head down headed back for the steps.
"Don't follow me." She called out. "You can go fuck your whore whenever you want now."
"Rory." He raced down the steps to see her scooping Emma up. "You can't take her. Please. I can't lose you both."
"Tell it to your whore. Bury your goddamn sorrows in her nasty pussy." Even though she spoke in a whisper, Happy could hear the white hot fury and hatred in her voice. "You don't deserve our children and you sure as shit don't deserve me."
The doorbell rang out and both Happy and Rory looked back in confusion. When the visitor knocked Happy sighed and moved passed her to open the door. He tensed as his eyes fell on Eli Roosevelt.
"Is Aurora Lowman here?" He asked in a dark tone.
"What is it?" She laid Emma back down and moved toward the door. "I've really had it with assholes today. Can we do this tomorrow?"
Eli shook his head. "I'm afraid we can't. You're under arrest for assault and battery, Mrs. Lowman."
