Carl's POV

I stormed back to the house we were staying at. Today everyone was moving into their own houses. I tried to distract myself from Lexi. I can't believe she lost her family like that.

I stormed into the house and into the living room where my sleeping bag was laid. I was in the corner so I faced the wall and picked up my comic. A few people have me curious looks but went back to packing their things getting ready to move. Me, Dad and Judith were staying in this house so I didn't have to worry about packing.

"Carl?" My dads voice rang from beside me. I heard Judith little giggle so I assumed she was in my fathers arms. I turned over and looked at my father. Concern written all over his face. Probably fake.

"What?" I asked turning back around.

"What happen?" He asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked innocently.

"Don't. Did someone do something or say something?" He asked seriously.

"No! I was talking to Lexi okay? God just leave me alone!" I snapped standing up and walking towards the front door. I stormed out of the house and decided to walk around the perimeter of the wall.

I slowed my pace and took deep breaths loving the smell of the pine trees outside the wall. It smelled like fresh cut grass which kinda got me curious. I continued to walk the perimeter until I got to a more private area. I looked ahead and saw a figure climbing over the wall. They were coming in and not out which made me even more curious than I was with the grass. Instinctively I reached for my gun only to find it missing.

I watched the figure from a distance waiting for there face to be revealed. They had a hood up so it made it even more difficult. The figure finally turned and looked in my general direction. Enid. What was she doing?

I watched as she started to run across the backyard opposite of me. I sighed and walked back the way I came. This all felt weird. First Lexi than my dad and now Enid.

Lexi's POV

I couldn't think straight. I couldn't control my body. I couldn't control my voice. I was drunk.

I heard my front door open and close as I took another shot. My face immediately scrunched up and I looked towards the approaching footsteps to see my good friend Enid.

"Enid! Just in time girl. Sit your ass down and have a shot." I giggled but it turned into a small hiccup.

"Fuck Lexi." Enid sighed and rubbed her face.

"Girl I didn't know you were a lesbian. Congrats but I'm not. I like Carl after all." I giggled again but this time it turned into a burp which made me giggle even more.

"You're drunk." Enid snapped walking to me and grabbing the almost empty vodka bottle from me.

"Just a little." I laughed holding my hand in front of my face and putting just enough distance between my thumb and pointer finger so that they weren't touching. I than separated my fingers massively and started to laugh like crazy.

"Come on. You need to sleep. Hangovers gonna be a bitch in the morning." Enid said helping me get up. I lazily threw my arm around her shoulder and I put most of my body weight on her.

"You have pretty hair." I burped staring wide eyed at her brown hair.

"Thanks." Enid said trying to be serious but a grin made its way onto her face. "You're lucky that your a happy drunk."

"I can be an angry drunk." I said stubbornly. I ran away from her feeling myself sway. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a plate. I flicked it at the wall just above her head causing her to duck and throw her hands over her head.

"WHAT THE FUCK LEXI?!" Enid cried standing up.

"Told you." I said in a little girl voice and I stuck my tongue out at her.

"Your insane!" Enid said trying to sound angry but a grin crept onto her face. A wave of anger and confusion hit me for real this time.

"WHY DOESNT HE CARE ABOUT ME?!" I screamed my eyes stinging from the unshed tears.

"Who?" Enid asked sounding and looking a little sad but mainly confused.

"CARL!" I screamed as the first tear rolled down my face.

"He does care about you." Enid said walking over to me and taking my hand.

"No he doesn't." I said lowering my voice a little as Enid led us to the living room.

"Lexi yes he does. He cares about you more than anything." Enid tried to calm me down speaking softly and sat us down on the couch.

"He tried to take away the one thing that gets rid of my pain." I whispered a single tear rolling down my cheek.

"Maybe it's time we replace what makes the pain stop." Enid cautiously.

"No I don't want something new. I want alcohol!" I said my voice raising a bit.

"I'm-" Enid was cut off by the front door opening and Mikey walking in. Enid gave him a look and said "Get Carl."

"No! I don't want to see him!" I screeched and tried to run towards Mikey but he was already out the door.

I turned around and dodged Enid in her attempt to grab me. I ran upstairs and into my room. I slammed the door and locked it just in time because Enid started to pound on the door.

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR LEXI!" She screamed as she kept pounding on the door causing it to shake violently.

I turned toward the window and ran to it. I opened it and looked down at the ground. It was about a seven to ten foot drop. I was drunk so I jumped without thinking and with only little hesitation.
