Janet woke me up before I planned to. She wanted me to take her and Amanda over to her mothers. Her family wasn't to fond of me because of the past. We were all in the car, we had our bags in the trunk. I was driving and Amanda and Janet were both on their phones.
Toni: "can y'all talk or something"
Janet looked up from her phone and met my eyes.
Toni: "how do you feel about seeing your family?"
Janet: "I'm happy to see Michael, that's about it"
Toni: "me too"
Amanda: "who all going to be there?"
Janet: "my mother and siblings that I know of"
Amanda: "what about your dad?"
When Amanda asked that, I noticed Janet's body tense up. She must've didn't tell Amanda. I looked up at the mirror and see Amanda in the back waiting for an response.
Toni: "he not going to be there"
I look back over one last time and see her staring out the window. I grabbed her hand that was in her lap and she squeezed it. Janet is one strong women but I know Janet was nervous and a bit scared to see her family again, she can act like she wasn't but I know her. An hour later, we was pulling up in front of the house. Amanda was asleep in the backseat and Janet was on her cellphone.
Toni: "you ready?"
Janet: "no" *grabs my hand*
Toni: "it's going going to be okay, I'm sure they've changed"
Janet: "let's hope so"
Janet let go of my and got out I reached my arm to the back and shook Amanda till she woke up. I look towards the house notice Janet knocking. Me and Amanda got out and by the time we got to the door, the door opens.
Michael: "baby sis!"
Michael pulled Janet into a hug and she yells out in laugher. Michael looked over Janet's shoulder and see Amanda and I.
Michael: "Toni what a surprise"
He gave me a tight hug and rubbed my back. Michael and I wasn't on good terms after me and Janet broke up, he really disliked me before but now I see he put it behind him but still was iffy"
Janet: "Michael this is my daughter... Amanda"
Michael let me loose and swooped up Amanda in his arms.
Michael: "Amanda hi, I'm your uncle"
Amanda: "hi?"
Amanda response made me chuckle. She clearly had to learn that Michael was a very energetic person. Michael put her down when he noticed she was confused. He gave me and Janet a look before turning around and motioning us to follow him inside.
Janet: "where's Katherine?
Michael: "mother is in the kitchen but everyone else is in the living room"
Toni: "Janet how about you go speak to your mom and I'll take Amanda to meet everyone in the living room"
Janet: "tha" *gets cut off by Amanda*
Amanda: "but I want to meet my grandma"
Toni: "janet needs to speak to her first ok"
Amanda looked at Janet with an annoyed expression. Amanda didn't understand why cause Janet didn't tell her. I just hope everything goes well today.
