When the Mikaelson sister were finished shopping, Ingrid practically ran inside being glad to finally be home. There was still some time before she had to get ready, so Ingrid decided to go into the library and grabbed a book to read. Ingrid curled up in one of the chairs, and started to read.

"I made this library just for you, knowing that this is where you would spend most of your time" Looking up from her book, Ingrid saw Klaus standing at the doorway looking at her with a soft smile.

"Thank you" She responded with a smile, then went back to her book. Klaus watched as she read, the guilt of what he had done coming back to him and he knew that he had to say something.

Moving away from the doorway, the hybrid made his way towards his younger sister and crouched to her level.

Seeing this, Ingrid placed the book down and looked to her brother.

"I want you to know how sorry I am for daggering Kol. Sometimes i forget that you two are linked, being twins and all. I didn't mean to cause you pain and suffering" Ingrid could see the guilt and sadness, and knew that his apology was sincere. The woman sat up more, and leant forward to pull her brother into a hug.

Klaus was surprised at first, but quickly melted into the hug and held his sister close.

"I forgive you, Nikky. But please don't do it again, not just to Kol but the others as well" Ingrid whispered into his ear, while keeping her arms around him. Klaus was a bit conflicted, because he didn't want to make a promise and then break it but he had to if he didn't want to lose her.

"You have my word, petite fleur" Ingrid grinned at the nickname he gave her centuries ago, and hugged him tighter.

"Thank you, Nik. I love you, you know that right?" Klaus' eyes filled with tears at her words, and he felt that familiar happiness he felt years ago when she was still around.

"I do. And i love you too, sister"

After their little sibling moment, Klaus had left Ingrid to her reading which she did up until an hour before the ball started. Rebekah had barged into the library, and practically dragged poor Ingrid upstairs to get ready.

It took them half an hour to do their hair and make-up, which left them some time to get into the outfits and do the finishing touches. Rebekah had finished first, and was waiting for Ingrid to come out and show her the finishing look.

"Come on, sister. I want to see how it looks" Rebekah whined for the millionth time in the span of five minutes. When Ingrid did come out, Rebekah grinned widely and clapped her hands excitedly.

"You look stunning, sweetheart. Although mother might have a fit when she sees what you're wearing" She said causing Ingrid to give her the same mischievous grin that Kol has.

"As always, Bekah, you look gorgeous. Matt will love it" Ingrid smiled, making Rebekah's face go a soft pink colour.

The two then left the room, arms hooked with each others and walked towards the staircase. When Ingrid saw all the people, she became more nervous. Rebekah noticed this, and gave her arm a gentle squeeze.

"Don't worry, sweet girl. You'll be okay, we'll be close by if you need us" She reassured, making Ingrid give her a thankful smile. The sister's walked down the stairs, as they were watched by the guests and their siblings.

When they got to the bottom, Kol was the first to step forward grabbing his twin's hand and twirling her around slightly.

"Look at you. You look absolutely beautiful, darling sister" Ingrid let out a giggle, which made her siblings faces brighten.

"He's right, little one. You look wonderful" Finn smiled slightly, kissing the side of her head. Finn felt guilty as he looked at his baby sister. When her and Rebekah were out shopping, Esther had come to Finn and told him of her plans. He was instantly against hurting his siblings, but she threatened to kill Ingrid if he didn't comply.

"You all look great" She said softly, so only they could hear. Kol pulled her closer to him, his arm around her waist and the twins walked further into the crowd of people. The two walked towards Carol Lockwood, the mayor of Mystic Falls.

"Mayor Lockwood. We haven't formally met. Kol Mikaelson, and my beautiful twin sister, Ingrid" Kol introduced, giving the older woman a kiss on the hand while Ingrid gave her a kind smile.

"Hope your lovely town embraces us just as much as we plan to embrace it" Damon, who was next to Carol, decided to step forward and held out his hand for Kol to take.

"Damon Salvatore. Have we met?" Damon wondered, looking between the twins. The two looked at each other with small cheeky grins, then looked back to Carol and Damon.

"We've met a lot of people, and you don't particularly stand out" Kol answered, as he and his sister walked off leaving an shocked vampire and mayor behind.

"Let's get a drink, shall we? And maybe we can try and find ourselves a human or two to play with" Ingrid smirked at her twin, liking the idea of going against their mother's orders and clinked her glass with his.

Not long after the twins got their drinks, the sound of Elijah's voice was heard through-out the room. Taking her hand, Kol led Ingrid over to their siblings, the two of them standing behind Elijah.

"If everyone could gather please. Welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this...it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries old waltz. So if all of you could find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom" Once Elijah finished his speech, everyone dispersed themselves to the ballroom.

Kol had insisted that Ingrid dance with him first, which got an amused eyes roll from Ingrid. Everyone who had partners, stood in front of each other and the dance started once the music did.

When Ingrid and her family left Mystic Falls those years ago, her siblings taught her how to dance. Ever since then, she always found joy in dancing whenever the family had a ball/party.

"I wonder if Klaus compelled his date to dance with him" Kol snickered, looking over to his brother who was dancing with a blonde girl. He let out a laugh when he felt a light slap on the chest.

"Alright, alright I'll stop....for now" Ingrid chuckled while shaking her head, as she was soon twirled around and was now in the arms of Finn.

"It's good to see you smiling, little one" He said, making the smile on her face widen even more and rested her head on his shoulder. Finn held her closer, the guilt he was feeling was now almost unbearable.

At the beginning, Finn always hated what he was but Ingrid was always there to help him and reassure him that he wasn't a monster. The eldest Mikaelson never really got along with his other siblings but when Ingrid was born, he felt this need to protect her at all costs.

When the two finished dancing, Ingrid was twirled into Kol's arms again and they're both bowed when the dance was over. Ingrid decided to go hang with Elijah, while Kol found his way over to Rebekah, who looked miserable.

"Where's you date?" Kol asked his sister.

"Flirting with his ex" Rebekah sighed, glaring over at Caroline and Matt.

"You've changed, Bekah. Settling for mortals is the first sign of weakness" The man taunted.

"I'm not settling. I brought him here to kill him. He's Elena's friend. If he dies, she suffers. But I've already been scolded once, so i was wondering if you and Ingrid would help your baby sister out?" Rebekah said innocently, looking to her brother.

"And spit right in the face of mother's rules?" Kol smirked, looking over to his twin who had heard the conversation and was heading over to them with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"We're In" Ingrid said, hooking her arm through Kol's and smiled at her younger sister, who mirrored her expression.

Rebekah had told the twins to wait outside so she could lure out, so the two waited impatiently for their sister and her date.

"I bet you she will change her mind. You know how Bekah can be" Ingrid said to her brother, as she kept an eye out for the blonde human boy and her sister.

"You're probably right, sister. But let's hope we're wrong, I'm in the mood for some blood shed" Kol smirked, nudging his sister who nudged him back with a laugh. The two stopped when they heard Rebekah and Matthew talking, as they headed towards where the twins were anxiously waiting.

"So, what are we doing out here?" Matt asked.

"Just taking a break from the polite chitchat" Rebekah answered, looking around to see if she could see her twin siblings.

"It's freezing. Let me get my coat" The human said, walking to his truck to get his coat out.

"This is your car?" The blonde vampire questioned.

"Yep. If i could compel myself a Maserati, i would. But I can't" Matt answered, as he placed his coat over Rebekah's shoulders.

"Oh. I'm a vampire. We don't....thanks" The two looked at each other for a few minutes, before Rebekah looked around nervously and looked back at her date.

"Let's get back inside. I've got all the fresh air I need" Rebekah led the human back to the house, not knowing that her siblings saw what happened.

"Seems as though you were right, dimples. She hasn't changed a bit" With that said, the twins walked  inside. The clinking of a glass could be heard of the chattering, making everyone stop what they were doing and looked up to see Esther.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Waiters are coming around with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. It provides me with no greater joy than to see my family back together as one. I'd like to thank you all for being part of this spectacular evening. Cheers" Everyone raised their glasses, then took a sip of their pink champagne.

From the top of the stairs, Esther watched her children successfully drink the blood spiked champagne, especially Finn to make sure he went along with it. A small part of her felt slightly guilty, but she had to undo her mistake.

After the champagne, Kol went off to do whatever while Ingrid stayed with Finn.

"So, has anyone caught your eye?" Finn asked his sister, who almost choked on her drink. She was deciding whether or not she should tell him yet, but she may as well.

"Actually, there's something I need to--Ah!" Ingrid let out a yell, feeling an intense pain in her neck.

"Ingrid, what's the matter? Are you alright?" Finn asked in panic, but she didn't answer instead she quickly ran outside to see her twin brother on the gravel unconscious. Her eyes darkened when she saw Damon crouched over her twin, and she quickly sped towards him grabbing his neck so he was face to face with her.

"How dare you touch my brother!" She snarled, her vampire face showing and her brown eyes almost black with rage. Damon was about to say something but instead let out a pained yell, as he felt his powers draining. Ingrid was siphoning from Damon, her intention was to kill the vampire for hurting her twin.

Damon's eyes were wide with fear, as he started feeling weaker by the second. Here he thought that the quietest Mikaelson was just that, but no, she was possibly worse then all of them.

"Ingrid, sweetheart you need to let him go. Ingrid!" Elijah called out, placing a hand on her shoulder making her snap her head in his direction. The snarl still on her face but when she saw it was her brother, the woman's face went back to normal and she hesitantly let go of the vampire.

Finn pulled her towards him and away from Damon, who was still breathing heavily on the ground.

"You better leave now, before I let my sister finish you off" Elijah ordered sternly. He didn't need to be told twice, and Damon was gone in seconds.
