It was the morning after the ball, and Ingrid hadn't left Kol's side after what happened. Of course he was okay, but she always hated when her brother got hurt. The younger twin was resting her head on Kol's lap, while she read the book she had been reading the day before.

Rebekah soon walked in, making Kol gently put Ingrid's head on a cushion and quickly stepped in front of his sister, who was still wearing her dress from last night.

"Well, well, well. There's our girl" Kol chirped.

"Get out of my way, Kol" Rebekah snapped, glaring at her brother in annoyance.

"Out all night. What a scandal. I trust you did better than that commoner. Matt. Was it?" The male teased, grinning at his sister in hopes to get a rise from her.

"If you don't shut your mouth, the next thing to come of it will be your teeth" The blonde woman threatened. Ingrid cleared her throat, while not looking away from her book.

Rebekah sighed, and muttered a quick apology. The woman pushed her way past Kol, and walked further into the sitting room.

"Don't start, Nik" Rebekah warned, to which the hybrid just raised his hands in defence with an amused smile on his face.

"I'm bored. Ah. Our sister is a strumpet. But at least she's having fun" Kol complained, as he collapsed onto Ingrid making her grunt and glare playfully at him.

"I need entertainment"

"What are you waiting for? Have at it" Klaus said, looking up at Kol for a second before going back to his sketch. Ingrid put her book down and pushed Kol to the floor, making him whine like a child.

"Let's go terrorise the locals. You should join us, Nikky. It's least you could do for daggering our siblings" Ingrid said innocently, making Kol and Rebekah laugh in amusement. Klaus looked at his younger sister, and couldn't the wide smile that appeared on his face.

"Okay. Why not. I didn't have nearly enough to drink last night with you trying to murder Rebekah's date" Klaus responded, wrapping an arm around Ingrid leading her out of the room with Kol in tow.

"Yes, please go. This house has enough men rolling around in it" Rebekah called out.

"Just like you, Bekah" Kol added, and quickly jumped out of the way as a shoe was thrown at him.

"Oh, come on, now. Let's not go blaming the new family in town just because you lot have a killer at large. Don't mind us. My brother, sister and I are just here to let off some steam. Right, Kol? Ingrid?" Klaus said, looking from Alaric and his date, to the twins who had identical smirks on their faces.

"Right" Kol answered.

The three Mikaelson's spent hours at the grill, drinking, laughing and mocking the humans. They were standing at the bar, when they saw a familiar blonde walking in.

"I remember her from last night. She looks like a tasty little thing" Kol teased, knowing it would piss Klaus off.

"Say another word and I'll tear out your liver" Klaus warned his brother, just as Caroline was about to walk past them.

"Caroline"

"Oh, it's you" She said in disgust. Normally Ingrid would've laughed, but she knew that her older brother liked her and it angered her to see Caroline treat Klaus like that.

"Join us for a drink?" Klaus asked, his voice not trying to sound so hopeful.

"Hmm, I'd rather die of thirst. But thanks" Caroline snapped, then walked off without another word.

"Isn't she stunning?" Klaus asked the twins, who scoffed.

"She certainly looks good walking away from you" Ingrid drawled, taking a sip of her bourbon as Kol laughed and Klaus rolled his eyes, while placing his glass on the bar.

"I'll take that as a challange" He said, then went in the direction Caroline left in. Kol finished his drink, and turned to his twin.

"Let's go play some pool. Then maybe we could get a snack afterwards" Kol suggested, gaining a nod of approval from Ingrid.

After playing a few rounds, Ingrid was winning by a long shot making Kol complain like a three year old. The two were soon joined by the woman that was accompanying Alaric.

"A woman of your caliber ought to choose more suitable company. What's your name, love?" Kol asked her.

"None of your business" The woman answered, causing Ingrid to snort out a laugh but Kol wasn't finished.

"Let's try that again. I'll start. I'm Kol" He introduced.

"Why don't you get lost, Kol?" She snapped, walking away from him again. The amused look on Ingrid's face vanished, and a look of annoyance replaced it. She walked over to the woman, glaring at her.

"I'd watch your tongue, little miss" Ingrid hissed, grabbing hold of her arm tightly. A presence could be felt from behind her, making her turn slightly.

"Let her go" Alaric demanded.

"And if she doesn't?" Kol wondered, stepping beside his sister who turned to face the hunter. Ingrid saw a glint of something shiney, and knew what it was. Before Alaric could dagger Kol, she pushed him out the way and the dagger went straight into her heart.

Alaric held onto Ingrid and watched as Kol also started to desiccate. With help, the two humans dragged the twins out the back, where they were to meet Damon and Stefan.

Out in the square, Klaus had been talking to Caroline, when he suddenly felt a pain in his chest. He stood up, and looked to Caroline.

"What is it?" The blonde asked.

"What did you do?" Klaus asked.

"Nothing" She answered, but Klaus could tell that she was lying and roughly grabbed her.

"What did you do?" He spat angrily.

"I didn't do anything. Stop it" Caroline argued, as Klaus pushed her away. He then looked to the grill, his heart dropping and his eyes widening.

"Ingrid" He whispered, and sped off towards the building. Klaus quickly found Alaric, who was holding a desiccated Ingrid.

He quickly pulled out the dagger, and slammed Alaric into the wall, knocking him out. Stefan came at him, but he was thrown into a wall harshly.

"I should've killed you months ago" Klaus sneered at the eldest Salvatore.

"Do it. It's not gonna stop Esther from killing you" Damon stated, making Klaus walk closer to him with a confused look on his face.

"What did you say about my mother?" He asked.

"You didn't know i was friends with your mummy? Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as i do" This angered Klaus and he was about to attack him, but the sound of Elijah's voice made him stop.

"Leave him. We still need him, Niklaus" Elijah said.

"What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?" Klaus asked his brother, who walked down the stairs and walked towards Damon.

"You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now" Elijah threatened, while holding his phone out.

"You told me we had until after nine" Damon questioned the original.

"I'm sure Rebekah would be more than happy to start her work early" Elijah taunted, making Damon glare at him.

The twins woke up not long after Damon left, both of them hugging each other like their life depended on it. Them, along with Klaus and Elijah made their way to where their mother was. When they got there, Ingrid was surprised to see Finn standing with Esther.

The four walked towards the two, all of them showing signs of anger and betrayal.

"My sons and daughter. Come forward" Esther spoke calmly. Ingrid, who was standing between Elijah and Kol, kept her eyes on Finn who looked anywhere but her eyes. He didn't want to see the look of hurt and betrayal that he knew they held, and so he remained looking at the ground.

"That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favourite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn. And here i thought you loved Ingrid, instead you're willing for her to die" Kol spat, pacing angrily outside the barrier.

"Be quiet, Kol. You're brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine. He chose to be the sacrifice, for the sake of our family" Esther spoke.

"Not willingly" Finn whispered, but it seemed only Ingrid heard him, making her eyes widen in fear for Finn's life.

"Whatever you think of us, killing your own children would be an atrocity" Elijah said calmly, although everyone could tell he was angry at their mother.

"My only regret is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago" Their mother said. Ingrid was close to breaking point, and decided to step forward.

"How could you do this to us? What did we do to deserve this?" She cried, looking at her mother with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, my darling. I regret what i did to you when you were still human. But I'm going to fix it, you no longer have to suffer" Esther tried to reason, but it only angered Ingrid.

"I've been suffering my whole life. From the moment i was five, you thought me different. Instead of being born a witch like my siblings, i was born a siphon. A creature who takes magic. And instead of helping me, you locked me away from everyone, over something i couldn't control" Ingrid yelled, feeling all of her locked up emotions hit the surface.

"You and Mikael made me believe i was a monster, and then you placed this curse on me to make me suffer for eternity. And let me tell you, i did suffer. I spent years not just being hunted by Mikael, but by witches. And not just that, but do you have any idea how long it took for me to hug my siblings let alone touch them. All because of the curse i was born with" The youngest twin yelled, her body shaking with anger and the tears in her eyes falling faster.

"I'm not your daughter, and i never was. All i was, was the freak of the family. The monster, the defective twin. Oh, and my personal favourite, the abomination" By now, everyone had tears in their eyes. This is the first time in a thousand years that her siblings have heard her talk this much.

Their hearts broke when hearing her words, it was like a knife pierced their hearts. They never knew the severity of her feelings, and now they do. They had never seen their sister so broken, until now and it was all because of Esther.

"So, if you want to kill me, do it. See if i care. Like you said, at least i won't suffer anymore" With that said, Ingrid walked away, leaving her heartbroken siblings and mother behind.
