When Ingrid left her siblings, the woman went back to the mansion and straight to her room. There was something she needed to do, a promise she had to keep. She packed a few bags with all that she needed, Ingrid then walked over to her desk and got a paper and pen.

She started writing a note for her family to read, and once the woman was done she got brought everything downstairs. Ingrid placed the note on a table where they will see it, and weighted it down with a crystal bear and a jar under another note Sighing sadly, Ingrid left the house putting her things in a car that she bought and set off to her first destination.

Kol was the first to arrive at the mansion, and looked around the house in hopes to find his twin. When he couldn't find her, he grew panicked. Kol sped down to the living room, where he saw the others.

"I can't find her anywhere" Kol stated, panic and fear evident in his voice. Finn, who had been the most quiet, saw two pieces of paper, a jar of what looked like blood and a crystal bear. Walking over them, he picked up the first note which had been written in Old Norse.

"What is that?" Klaus asked, walking over to his brother.

"It's a note that Ingrid left" Finn simply answered, as he continued reading the note.

"Well, what does it say?" The hybrid pushed anxiously, making Finn sigh in slight annoyance.

"It says that she's sorry for leaving so suddenly, and that she's going to find--her soulmate" Everyone's eyes widened at the new information.

"While she had been daggered, she had spent twenty two years watching her mate grow and had spent the last sixteen years in a dreamlike world getting to know him personally. He's in a prison world and she's gone to look for a way to get him out" Finn explained.

"It's says for Kol to meet her at the airport. And P.S The black bear will keep you safe while I'm away" He finished. Finn, Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah stood there confused but Kol seemed to have already put the pieces together.

"The black bear? What does that even mean? And why does she want you to meet her at the airport" Rebekah asked, looking to the older twin who looked deep in thought. Elijah picked up the other note, reading out loud.

"She left another note. It's an unlinking spell. Esther had linked us together, and Ingrid told us that all we need is a vial of our blood and find a witch powerful enough to break the link. She may be quiet, but she's always been the smartest in the family" Elijah chuckled wholeheartedly, while grabbing the jar of Ingrid's blood.

"Kol, do you know what she meant by "the black bear will protect you while I'm away?" Finn asked, turning to Kol who was re-reading the first note. Suddenly, a large smile appeared on his face and he let out a laugh while picking up the crystal bear.

"This black obsidian bear is what I gave Ingrid just before we were turned. I gave it to her so she had something that reminded her of me if we were ever apart" Kol smiled fondly, staring at the bear and he could feel her magic in it.

"She's put a protection spell on all of us, and has tied it to the black bear so it'll never break. She's protecting us even though she isn't here" He explained.

Even though they were sad she had left, it made them happy knowing that she's protecting them and that she will be coming back.

Ingrid was waiting at the airport, hoping her brother saw the note and was on his way. She was so engrossed in her book, she didn't realise that Kol was sitting next to her.

"When were you going to tell me you found your soulmate?" Ingrid chuckled to herself, placed her book on her lap and turned to her twin.

"I'm sorry. It didn't seem like the right time, plus i wanted to spend time with you first before I told you about my mate" Ingrid said quietly.

"I understand, darling. I just wish you could've at least told me, your twin. Your other half and womb-mate" Kol said dramatically, making Ingrid laugh Kol soon joining in.

"So, dimples. Where are we flying to?" The older twin asked, draping his arm around her shoulders.

"Well Kai was born in Portland, so I'm hoping to find some information there" Ingrid answered.

"I'm guessing Kai is the name of the man who has stolen my twin sister's heart?" Kol squinted jokingly at the woman beside him.

Kol was always sceptical of the whole soulmate ordeal, he never believed in them. But now he understands why Ingrid was so happy when she woke up, she had met her mate.

"Well his name is Malachai, but he prefers Kai or Mal" Ingrid smiled fondly, which didn't go unnoticed by her twin.

"Tell me about him. What is he like? Is a vampire? A witch? He better not be a wolf, we already have a mutt in the family" Ingrid gasped comically, and slapped Kol's arm lightly making him laugh.

"I think it would be better if i told you where there aren't so many people around" She whispered, making her brother nod in understanding.
