For the first eighteen years of Ingrid's life, she had felt nothing but loneliness and fear. When she was five, Ingrid had somehow taken some of her mother's magic without meaning too and from then on her parents would lock her away from everyone.

Ingrid didn't understand what she did wrong, but now it seemed that her parents seemed to hate her. It broke her heart that her parents felt that way, and that they kept her away from her siblings, especially her twin, Kol. Although, her being locked away didn't seem to stop her siblings from sneaking in to see her.

Through-out the years, Ingrid was seen as a monster, an abomination by her parents, especially Mikael. He hated her as much as he hated Klaus. It confused her because she didn't ask to be what she was, and so she didn't understand why her parents treated her like trash.

The remaining siblings hated that their sister couldn't play with them, or even be near them. Klaus and Kol hated it the most, and they hated their parents for it.

There were times where one of them would visit her, they catch her crying to herself while hiding her hands. They also didn't understand what the problem was, at least not until they were older.

When their parents explained what was wrong with their sister, they still didn't get why they locked her away like an animal and it enraged them that their sister was being treated as such.

The children still didn't listen to their parents warnings, and continued visiting their sister. But their visits soon stopped when Kol got caught sleeping next to his sister, so Mikael banned them from ever going up into the attic.

A year and a half, is how long Ingrid hadn't seen her siblings and she missed them like crazy. Sometimes her siblings would outside the attic door, but that was all they got.

Ingrid didn't even know that Henrik had died, until the night that the whole family were turned into vampires. Kol had hopped that maybe Ingrid hadn't been turned, but when he got to the attic he saw blood on her clothes and knew that she too was cursed like the rest of them.

The girl was terrified of herself even more, now that she had been turned into an even bigger monster. But, she found that she could now do magic without siphoning it from someone else. Luckily Kol hadn't lost his ability to do magic, so he made sure to help his twin practice her magic.

The Mikaelson children didn't miss how different their sister had become. She was skinnier, so quiet to the point of being mute and it worried them. They all tried to get her to speak more, but it deemed almost impossible.

She could only share a few quiet words with her siblings but that's all they would get. They also found that she would flinch away whenever they would try to touch her hands, which worried them especially Kol.

They all had their ideas as to why Ingrid acted like this, so they tried helping her feel more comfortable around them. Ingrid hated how she acted, but she couldn't help it. She would constantly wear gloves so she couldn't hurt anyone, to which her siblings would tell her that she didn't need to, but she didn't listen.

Ingrid noticed how her siblings became more protective of her, which she didn't whether because they pitied her or that they really did care for her. It was hard for her to believe that they cared for her, and that they didn't see her as an abomination.
