9 years
Blaze came to my house after school everyday, my mom would drive him home around 5 pm. This time he wouldn't complain about going back home. We would play all day, mom would yell for us to come in for dinner, and we would. Then back outside we went we were never inside.
And on my 9th birthday I invited Rose and Blaze over, and that was it. No more huge parties full of girls. My mom was a little shocked about what I wanted then she realized, Blaze wouldn't want to be with 21 other little girls, and she respected my thoughts.
"I'm really excited, I've never been to a bowling alley," Rose squealed beside me as we all put our seat belts on and waited for my mom to start the car.
"I have. It's lots of fun," Blaze says who's sitting on the other side of me.
"I wasn't talking to you," Rose scrunches her nose and squints her eyes, her tone dripping poisonous venom.
"Rose don't be rude. You ruining the fun," I say trying to break up the argument.
"Well mr know it all had to butt in," she rolls her eyes and faces the window. I glance over at Blaze who is staring at his feet.
"He's just trying to say that it's a lot of fun. Don't you understand?" I ask.
Ever since Blaze and I had become friends, Rose and I were starting to drift apart. We were still close friends but not as close as the relationship Blaze and I had. And I could tell it made her upset and jealous because when ever she was with Blaze she would try and make him feel down about himself.
"Just stop I don't want to talk to him or you at the moment," she huffs then crosses her arms over her chest. I frown then pull my attention to my mom who is walking to the front of the car.
"Hey mommy! How long will the car ride be?" I ask as she enters her key into the ignition, making the engine rumble to life.
"About half an hour. I was thinking about stopping for some ice cream. How does that sound?"
"Great!" Blaze and I chorus together. I look over to Rose to see her bobbing her head up and down.
Maybe ice cream is all she needs to lighten her mood.

Bowling was fun. Rose ended up enjoying herself and having lots of fun. Blaze won the game, which put Rose's mood back to were it began, miserable.
Rose got me a coupon to the local nail salon for my mom and I and a pink shirt with ruffles at the front. Mom was awhing about how cute it was, while Blaze was anything but interested. Blaze got me a pair of over sized pearl earrings that I instantly put on,
When we dropped of both Rose and Blaze I could tell mom knew about Rose's sour behaviour. So once we turned off of their street she turns and look to me.
"Is there something going on between you and Rose lately?" She asks.
"No," I answer quietly.
"Are you sure. Rose was very quiet today and that's not normally like her."
"Well she's been acting all jealous lately. Just because Blaze and I have became friends she's been rude to Blaze ignoring his presence. It's not his fault that we became friends."
"Have you been excluding Rose from your play?"
"Well no," I answer. Where was she trying to go with this?
"Then why isn't she ever over anymore?" Mom pelts me with questions like we are at a law case.
"Because unlike Rose, Blaze doesn't want to go home. Did you see the way he acted when you first met him. He could of grabbed onto your leg and never have let go."
