December 19th 2022 - Atlanta
It was a long road to recovery but Sebastian and y/n managed to fight through the worst part of it together and it made them grow even closer than they already were.Today they were at the hospital again as it was exactly 14 days after the surgery. The doctor would pull Sebastian's stitches and check how his general well-being was. Maybe he was able to do more physical movements afterwards - he really hoped for it.
While they were patiently waiting in the waiting room - their fingers laying intertwined on his thigh - y/n thought about all the challenges they faced over the last two weeks.
She remembered the first time he was able to do a few steps from their bedroom out on the hallway on his way to the bathroom. He needed to pee and as it was in the middle of the night he didn't want to wake y/n.
These were exactly the moments y/n was scared about: when Sebastian's stubbornness was stronger then his mind to not hurt himself again. Thankfully she was a light sleeper and heard him shuffle along the wooden floor.
„Sebastian, Are you kidding me? What the hell are you doing?" she had screamed at him and his whole body twitched upon her scream - which lead to instant pain so that he almost collapsed right in her arms.
Thankfully she could support him with her own arm before she gentle and slowly led him back into the bedroom.
„I needed to pee and felt good and didn't want to wake you." he mumbled before sitting back in the wheelchair that was placed next to his side of the bed. Y/N let out a loud sigh but renounced to give him another „listen to the doctors"-speech. He was stubborn and she knew it.
His little trip didn't lead to any bleedings or other complications - thanks god!
A few days later after another check-up the doctor allowed him to do a few steps on his own which earned y/n the „I told you I can do that"-glaze from Sebastian. She remembered how happy he buzzed a melody in the car on their way back home.
She was happy for him, but she was also scared that we would do too much.
Over the last two weeks his pain became better everyday, which also increased the possibility of him doing too much because he didn't feel any bad pain. As the pain was so intense in the beginning his body became kind of numb against smaller amount of pain - clear signals of his body that the movement wasn't good for his recovery. But he was either not feeling the lighter pain anymore or simple just ignored it.
Thankfully so far nothing happened that blocked his recovery.
Sebastian and y/n also observed closely the color changes of his bruises. Every day they discussed about potential pictures that could be found in the changing skin color. Y/N had expected the dark blue to simply lighten and then disappear, but in reality its color was more like a rainbow everyday: purple, blue, green, red, orange and yellow. All colors could be found.
In the beginning his entire left side of the abdomen was dark blue - almost like he was wearing a shirt just on that side of the upper body. But with time there were lighter spots to be seen withing the bruise - making it look like an abstract painting.
One morning Sebastian woke y/n with an intense shake on her upper arm - making her heart skip a beat because she was scared as hell that he had hurt himself.
"Look, y/n! There's a bunny forming right under my nipple" he laughed and pointed on the spot on his chest.
Her face was a mixture between disbelieve and confusion but indeed there was a yellow/orange frame in between the darker bruises that looked a bit like a bunny. She could see a little ears and a little dot at one end that could be the fluffy tail.
