"I have worked my ass out to make sure we are the best and also pay y'all asses in due time, so who the hell told our partner about the little figure problem we facing. Who?" Mr Walter barked.
A cold shiver run down my spine. Not when I'm about to prove to this company my worth. What's all these na? My face squeezed in disappointment. This better not disrupt my shine. I adjusted my seat, squeezed my hands under the table and uncomfortably tapping my hands on my lap.
I searched my eyes on everyone staff who was present in the meeting, they all looked worried. Then my attention caught Mrs Prisca who just came for the meeting late. She is heavily pregnant. I watched her snuggled her head in between the window blinds. I'm sure she was scared too.
Our eyes caught, I signaled her with an I don't know look. I really couldn't predict the boss now.
She also signaled if it was okay she comes in.
I shook my head no."Ekom your pitch better make up for this mess"
My attention was directed to him in surprise. "Huh" I muttered.
You have 3months to come up with something. During this 3 months we all need to fix this mess and make the company's figure go up so we stand a chance.
Now you all leave my office. He commanded.
We were about to take our leave. "No word of this company outside." He ordered.
"Yes Sir" we all chorused in unison.
We left the conference room, as everyone scattered to their various units and offices. My office was on the third floor. I took the elevator on my right then punched on the number that takes me to my office. I stared into my shoes waiting to take off, Mrs Prisca walked in a haste to meet up with me.
"Hi Mrs Prisca" I startled to see her run with her big bump which seemed to me like a 9 months pregnancy.
She should take a leave or something. I'm single and I'm already complaining of how tedious work is, how much more she?
Whats going on? She asks in curiosity.
I explained everything that was being said at the meeting.
"Oh wow, I'm happy I didn't get into that office." She said and smirked.
"Well I still think he would have considered your condition." I said.
You don't know Mr Walter. Well who would have done that. Prisca raised her eyebrows.
"I really don't know."
The elevator sound beeped. I adjusted my pants to my waist, bowed to button my shirt, then the elevator opened, Mrs Prisca and I made our way out.
"How's the baby doing?" I asked.
She rubbed her hands on her bump and smiled. "Fine — she is always active.
"Wow a girl." My lips wore a broad smile.
Mrs Prisca has always wanted a girl this. 3 boys and now a girl. I could sight the glitters of smile on her face. How happy she is finding out it's a girl."This is my 7month. She chuckles, still rubbing her hands. "I can't wait to see her"
"I know right" I laughed.
"Let me get to work"
"Yeah we should."
Our offices was just adjacent each other. We waved and went apart.
Getting to my office, I moved to adjust my window blinds, leaving my designer bag on my office desk and relaxed my back to my chair. I leaned forward, to bring my bag close, removing my system and some documents then took out my phone from a tiny compartment of my bag. I relaxed again to my chair, swingling along.
