For the next couple of hours, the superspies brought Captain Carter up to speed a little on some of the things she had missed out since being frozen, as well as how Sam, Clover and Alex had first gotten their superpowers, and how Tony Stark had designed the armour that Britney used as Rescue. In turn, Peggy explained about how she had intercepted the Hydra plane carrying the Tesseract, and how the resulting fight caused the plane to spiral out of control and crash into the Arctic waters.
"So, what now?" asked Carter after she finished telling her story.
"Well, I suppose the sensible thing to do is to get you back to WOOHP for a full-medical check-up," suggested Spider-Woman. "I presume you don't much like to hang around this frozen wasteland a moment longer than necessary."
"You presume correctly," smiled Peggy gratefully as she took another sip of her coffee.
"Hang on a sec, what about the Tesseract?" pointed out Wasp. "The security team hasn't arrived yet and we can't leave it here unguarded."
"How about Spidey takes the Captain back to WOOHP, while the rest of us wait here on guard duty," suggested Rescue. "When the security team arrives, she can come back and pick us up."
"Sounds like a good idea," said Spider-Woman. "You guys think you can cope without me for a few hours?"
"Sure," replied Invisible Girl. "Just get back here as soon as you can, huh? We don't much like hanging around here in the cold either!"
And so twenty minutes later, the Quinjet took off from the icy plains and began to streak back through the skies towards the U.S. Aboard the high-speed jet, Spider-Woman was busy at the controls, whilst Captain Carter, seated in the co-pilot's chair, marvelled at design of the plane.
"They didn't happen to find a way of slowing or stopping the ageing process since my time, did they?" she asked quietly.
"Not that I've heard," Spider-Woman replied, glancing over at her passenger with a sympathetic expression. "Sorry. I guess you were kinda hoping some of your friends might still be around."
"I was rather," said Carter sadly, before adding with a hopeful smile, "Well, I'm glad to have some new friends at least."
Spider-Woman gave a friendly smile, then inclined her head to the view of downtown L.A., which could now be clearly seen through the windshield. As Carter looked on, she felt somewhat amazed, as they landed on the roof of a high-rise building with a giant 'W' on top. After the plane powered down, the two heroines exited via the entry ramp, then made their way over to the roof access door.
"First, Jerry's office, then the med bay. Sound good?" Spider-Woman asked, as she led the way inside and down a metallic hallway with Carter.
Carter hummed in agreement, as they reached a large glass door that slid open, a little to Carter's surprise, as she was still trying to comprehend how much technology had developed since the forties. As they stepped into the office, they were greeted by a balding elderly man in a black suit.
