Heeseung's POV:
"And on top of that, her boyfriend's cheating on her." I say making the whole room run silent.
"What? How do you know that?" Jake says after a while of loud silence.
"I went over to her house for dinner and when I went out for fresh air I heard him on the phone. And that's not even the worst fucking part. Her bestfriend, Jiwoo, is the one he's cheating with. I don't know how to tell her." I say while running my hand through my hair.
"Wow, and you made a mistake like that, when her boyfriend's literally cheating on her?" Jake responds making me roll my eyes but I can't say anything since he's right.
We keep talking and I keep my mouth shut since whenever I speak, Jake has something to say against me.
We quickly head to her house again, handing her parents the gifts while bowing. Jay, and Sunghoon leave first while Jake and I are left.
"You guys are just friends right?" he asks me.
"I don't know anymore. She made it a point to show me, she doesn't care anymore." I respond.
"Perfect. Now stay away from Chaewon. I don't want her getting more hurt." he says, giving the last word before leaving. I watch as he drives away like nothing happened but my heart is shattered.
Am I the problem? But I truly can't live without her. I'm being clingy aren't I?
I walk back into my house and sink into my bed. I close my eyes but I just can't force myself to go to sleep. After about 30 minutes of just thinking, I hear the front door creek open. My father already fired the maids so it can't be them.
Perfect. Now my biggest problem is home. I wonder if he's drunk today like every other day.
"Heeseung-ah!! Come here, son!!" he shouts, oddly kind sounding. Ah. There must be people over he wants me to meet. Great.
I quickly throw a sweatshirt over my t shirt, and walk out while fixing my hair. I walk out and see a young girl, around my age, standing with my father's arm around her. Shit.
I walk closer and realize a couple, that look like her parents are standing there so I take a breath of relief.
"Yes?" I say in the most sarcastic way I can.
"Meet the daughter of Jang foods! Doesn't she look like a perfect fit to be your wife! Me and her parents already discussed, and we decided you guys could get to know each other!" he says making my heart drop. Is this marriage thing actually real? He wasn't joking??
"Oh, don't you think I'm a bit young, father?" I say while rolling my eyes at him. I can see the girl squirming in his grasp, looking clearly uncomfortable.
"Nonsense! A beautiful girl like her, is a opportunity you don't want to miss!" he says.
"Yes, and your such a tall and handsome man, Heeseung! You must look like your dad!" her dad adds.
"I look a lot more like my mother." I say before pausing.
I approach the girl who is now as pale as a ghost and pull her closer to me. I stare down at her in the most seductive way.
"Well we should get to know each other, right? We'll go take a walk. Thank you." I say before bowing and holding her close to me while walking away.
We get outside and I hear her take a small sigh of relief. I quickly take my arm off her and look away.
"Sorry about my father. He's disgusting." I say.
"It's okay. And thank you for that." she says shyly. I look back at her and stare at her features. Although I try to look at her in a fresh and new way, I can't help but compare her to Chaewon. What the fuck is wrong with me?
"Anytime." I say while trying to put on my best smile.
"So... I guess you don't have any thoughts on getting married to me, right?" she says catching me off guard.
"And you do? Are you a goody two shoes, who listens to whatever your parents say? Well I'm not, sorry. I want to marry someone I love, and no offense but I barely know you." I say while kicking the rocks on the floor.
"Oh. I just want to make my parents happy, you know? But you really don't have any feelings for me? Do you treat all girls like you did just now?" she says while obviously trying to hide her red face.
"Uhm what do you mean?" I say, while looking any where except here.
"Oh. I guess you do. Okay, well Heeseung, nice to meet you. I'm Yookyung. Wanna walk?" she says making me shake her hand.
"Sure..." I say awkwardly. Do we have anything to even talk about?
I walk down the steps and hear a car pull up in front of Chaewon's driveway. I notice it's not her parents, make me stop in my tracks for a couple seconds.
I watch as her asshole boyfriend comes out of the car and we make eye contact. I scoff and glare at him as he walks to her front door.
"Hey asshole! I guess you decided to clock into your boyfriend duties, huh?" I say while rolling my eyes.
"Shut the fuck up. Chaewon is my girlfriend, and it seems like you made her mad." he says while pressing the doorbell.
"Scared I'm gonna tell her?" I say back. Before he can responds the door opens and I stare intensely at Chaewon. Is she okay?
I see she's pale, and she has dark undereye circles. She seems so worn out. This is all my fault.
"Chaewon! Please just talk to me! I'm sorry." I say while getting closer, but all she does is hide behind Minwoo.
"I have nothing to say Heeseung. It seems like your having a good time with more girls. I told you I don't care anymore, drink yourself to death, do whatever." she says loudly.
"Yes, me and Heeseung should get going, right?" Yookyung says making me shake her hand off me. I make eye contact with Chaewon and see her sullen eyes just looking disappointed at me.
"Chaewon! I'm sorry! I swear I would never hurt you intentionally." I scream but she's already getting into Minwoos car.
"Fuck." I say under my breath. I then face Yookyung again with a face of hatred.
"So that's the girl you truly love? She's pretty." Yookyung says unexpectedly while looking down.
"She's not. She's my best friend. And mind your business please." I say while walking back into my house and leaving the door open. I soon hear her follow me inside.
"Okay sweetie, I think its time to go. Thank you so much Mr. Lee for this amazing time." Her parents say while bowing to him. They quickly take their daughter and leave with the gift my father probably gave them in hand.
"You will marry that girl. I don't want to hear excuses-" I cut him off by saying something off the top of my head.
"I have someone I deeply love." I announce.
