Hagrid dropped Y/N off at the train station claiming he had a package for Dumbledore that he needed to deliver. He handed her a train ticket and told her that her train would leave in 15 minutes then left before she could even ask where Platform 9 3/4 was.

Y/N made her way to where the train platforms were and she noticed that she had been getting funny looks by people who walked by her. To be fair, she was a child pushing a trolley loaded with heavy suitcases. Not only that, she had a literal owl in a cage. She tried asking the staff who worked there for directions to "Platform 9 3/4" but her efforts were to no avail. The staff looked at her crazy as if she were on drugs or something.

"Platform 9 3/4? You're the second kid to ask me where that is. You kids better stop fooling around. Unlike you, we've got jobs to do!" said one of the guards that she had asked. He walked away from her muttering a "Kids these days." under his breath. At this point, Y/N was on the verge of giving up. That was until she heard someone say the word "Muggle". She had only heard that word come out of Hagrid and several other shop owners at Diagon Alley. She looked around and found a group of redheads pushing trolleys similar to hers — they also had an owl!

She watched from not too far, trying to see how they would get to Platform 9 3/4. It seemed that it wasn't only her who didn't know how to get to the platform because there was another boy with messy black hair and glasses who approached the redheaded lady.

She observed their actions and tried not to blink so she wouldn't miss it. However, every time one of the boys would go in front of the wall that separated platform 9 and 10, a crowd would block her view and by the time the crowd had cleared out, they would disappear.

Before the last redhead could walk towards that wall, Y/N decided to go to the lady and ask for help as well. Luckily for her, the lady was very nice and agreed to help. She told Y/N all she had to do walk towards the wall and assured her that she would not crash into it. "Best do a bit of a run if you're nervous." She advised. Y/N was skeptic at first but what other choice did she have?

The lady told her to go first before her last son. Y/N took hold of her trolley and ran towards the wall, closed her eyes shut and prepared for impact. When she realized she hadn't crashed into a wall, she opened her eyes.

In front of her eyes was a maroon coloured train with steam coming out of it, waiting next to a platform packed with people. "Woah.." Y/N said to herself. She looked up and saw a sign that read "HOGWARTS EXPRESS 9 3/4".

Chatters and sounds of animals filled the train carriages. Y/N kept going carriage to carriage trying to find an available compartment, the first few carriages that she had walked by were already taken. Her body slouched from carrying 2 heavy suitcases, a backpack and an owl cage. Everyone else had someone to help them carry something, whether it be their parents or siblings or friends. Y/N didn't have any of those.

Not too far from the end of the train was an empty compartment. Y/N put her belongings one-by-one on the overhead compartments and put her owl on the seat next to her. She took out a book from her backpack that read QUIDDITCH THROUGH THE AGES on the cover. She read through a couple of pages before getting distracted by the scene outside her window. Mums and Dads were waving bye to their kids on the train. It wasn't only mothers and fathers doing this, she could also see elders and young children waving goodbye.

"Take good care of your sister, James!"
"Be careful, Venela! Send us a letter when you reach Hogwarts!"
"Fred! George! You best behave yourselves! And look after Ron!"
"Have fun, kids!"

The train started to move. She rested her head on her palm and let out a sigh of sadness and disappointment. Disappointed at the life that was given to her. Sometimes she wondered how her life would be if she had a family, or a parent at least. Well. Not an evil one.

Man, I wish I had a family. Life would've been so much better and maybe we could've even had a family dog or maybe a fish or maybe a dog or maybe a-

"Quidditch through the ages? I've read that one already, it's a good read really. May I sit here? All the others are full."
