I contacted Santi na hindi ako muna uuwi sa amin. Saying that I was at Claudio's was a long story to explain and him talking about not going to do funny business. Ngayong gabi lang, nothing else, nothing more. Just being a concerned na secretary ng boss ko is enough. Because I knew my contract ends in the next few hours.
Claudio eventually was drying his hair as Callum was there preparing tea.
"I figured na kailangan mo talaga ito, sorry I had to use your kitchen" Callum faintly smiled.
"Salamat, okay lang" there was an awkward silent sa kanilang dalawa as they watched on TV muna.
"Are those your siblings?" Callum asks as he spotted a picture frame.
"No... They're Lucas' " Claudio answered.
"Kapatid sila ni Lucas? Eh bakit magkasama kayo?" Callum asks.
"Before Lucas'... Death, I made a promise na aalagaan ko yung mga kapatid nila. Right now nasa probinsya sila para makatulong sa tita nila" Claudio says as Callum furrowed.
Was Lucas that irresponsible na hindi niya mapapaisip tungkol sa mga kapatid niya tas iniwan pa kay Claudio?
"Never mind that, are you... Still mad at me?" Callum asks.
"Mad? Bakit naman ako magagalit?" Claudio furrowed as he sips on his cup.
"Hindi kita pinansin at... Medyo naging overreacting doon sa concert. I was just..." Claudio then slides his hands sa kaniya to hold.
"You don't have to say sorry for that. Ako nga dapat magsosorry eh. I don't want to be a killjoy doon since you loved KD concerts so much" Claudio said.
"About doon sa balita? Kinonfirm niyo bang dalawa?" Callum asks again.
"No, I rejected it sana pero Lucas was in the way. I was just... Scared" Callum averts his eyes to somewhere else.
"Looks like the rain isn't subsiding anytime soon. Gusto mo laro muna tayo?" Claudio asks.
"If I win, I get to choose a game we play after. If I lose, siyempre ikaw pipili ng laro natin after" Claudio says as Callum looks at him.
"Don't you dare-"
"Oh yes, we're playing chess" he winks as he grabs a chess board.
Few minutes went by na and it seems like Callum was winning. Claudio knew he was running out of options.
"No choice but to surrender na Dio, you're surrounded!" Callum claps as Claudio sighed.
"Don't underestimate a king Callum" when he reaches over to Callum's area.
"And especially don't underestimate a pawn" it took one move and everything collapsed.
The pawn was now the queen.
"Check... Mate" Claudio whispered.
Callum couldn't believe it. The pawns were surrounding the king except the behind area.
"Tanginamo naman!" Callum playfully smacks his hands.
"Aray! I didn't cheated naman" Claudio pouts.
"Still! Bakit iyong favor pa! Eh hindi ako marunong sa chess eh" Callum rolled his eyes.
"Ano gusto mo?"
"Edi chinese garter sana o luksong baka siguro okay pa ako" He reasoned.
"No backing up! Sige na para hindi naman ako mabored dito eh" Callum pouted as Claudio sighed.
