"I said pretend, not be suspicious." He said as we walked away. I followed him as we entered an office. presumably his office.
"This is your office?" I asked out of curiosity.
"If this isn't my office, why would I enter this office in the first place?"
"I'm just fucking asking, no need to be sarcastic," I said, rolling my eyes at him. I sat on the couch and wait for something to happen. He opened his desktop and start working.
"What do I do?" I asked as I'd been waiting for something to happen for about half an hour.
"Do shit. Talk to the employees or something." He answered.
"What are you to this company, anyway? And who is Mr. Clarke?"
"I'm the Head Creditor and CFO, Chief Financial Officer of the company. And Mr.Clarke? He's the owner of the company. Your parent's rival." He answered as he was working on stuff.
"My parent's rival? Owner of the company?" I said before I looked away from the distance. If Mr. Clarke's the owner of this company, does this man married me to get revenge on my family?After a few hours of staring into nothingness, Zavien grabbed my hand and dragged me.
"Where are we going," I asked.
"Lunch." He said as he kept dragging me. I forcefully let go of his hand and I just followed him towards the elevator. When we are at the cafeteria of the company, We had our lunch together there and no one dared to join him except for one employee.
"Congratulations on your wedding!" She said, looking at Zavien as she sat in front of us.
"Thanks." He said with a straight face.
"This is your husband, right?" She asked. Who is she anyway?"
"Yes," Zavien said before he left the table to place his tray where it should be, leaving us.
"Your wedding's just temporary. I don't fucking care if you're the husband, I will take Zavien from y-See you later Mr. Silvius." The woman who sat in front of us said as if it changes her mood after seeing Zavien. What the fuck, I now have a rival? Fuck her.
"She said she's gonna take me away from you, isn't it," Zavien said and I stood up after I finished the meal I ordered.
"Yeah, What the fuck does she want and Who is she anyway?" I asked before we left the cafeteria.
"She's Dianne. Daughter of Mr. Clarke's best friend. She's the Human Resources Manager here. She just got promoted last week." Zavien said, telling the information about Dianne.
"Why does she want you?"
"She had a huge crush on me ever since I applied to this company. When she knew I'll be marrying someone by a contract, she started acting like that." Zavien said and I didn't notice were already at our office after following him.
"She weirdo," I whispered before I sat on the couch.
