"Charlie!" Darcy giggled and pointed at him from across the room. "Go for two!"
Blinking slowly, Charlie picked up his cup, taking two deliberate sips and grinning at her. He then flopped back into the sofa next to me, his head resting on my shoulder.
We were having a chilled hang out with the Paris squad, the first time we got together in months. At least it was supposed to be chilled. Only 20 minutes in, Darcy had suggested drinking games and not long after a game of King's Cup was well underway. Already most of us were tipsy at the very least, but Charlie was verging on completely wasted. I suspected Tao had something to do with it as he kept nominating Charlie to drink whenever it was his turn.
"I love you." He said in my ear. I'm guessing it was supposed to be a whisper but it was way louder than he intended.
"You, Charlie, are very drunk." I replied, tapping his nose. He let out one of his adorable giggles and leaned up to kiss me.
"Mhm. I am very, very drunk. And I love you sooo much." His words slurred together.
"You're cute when you're drunk."
"You're cuter." He leaned into my ear again. "I wanna hook up with you." This time he actually succeeded in whispering and I felt my face turn hot, my pants getting a little tighter at his words.
"Oi! You two! Stop flirting and play with us." Tara caught our attention and somehow Charlie forced himself off of me, sitting up on the edge of the sofa. From how he was sitting, his back dead straight and tense, I knew he was just as turned on as I was, maybe more.
"Well, get on with it then." I called out, gesturing to Elle who was next to take a turn, and successfully got the attention turned away from me and Charlie. I kind of zoned out for a while, faintly hearing the squeals of laughter from our friends as they encouraged each other to drink more. My attention was focused on my adorable boyfriend. I let one hand rest on the small of his back, a subtle way of telling him that I wanted a drunken hook up too.
"Your turn, Nicholas." Charlie's voice broke me out of my thoughts and I saw that he had turned to face me, a look in his eye that told me his focus was nowhere near the game. I swallowed a lump in my throat and leaned past him to grab a card.
"Jack." I announced, showing the card around. Cheers went through the room, followed by laughter as everyone held up a hand, fingers splayed. "Okay, uh, never have I ever fallen asleep in public."
"Boring!" Tao complained but put a finger down anyway. Charlie and Darcy followed suit with a few giggles.
"You go then." I challenged, waving my five still raised fingers in his direction.
"Sure. Um, never have I ever given someone a love bite." My face got hot again as I lowered a finger, thinking about all the marks I'd left on Charlie over the years. Tara and Darcy looked at each other before lowering a finger each as did Charlie, of course, and Isaac.
"Oh, come on. You can't honestly expect us to believe you and Elle have never given each other a hickey!" Charlie called out.
"Tao's gentle." Elle supplied with a grin, her eyes on her boyfriend who blushed and ducked his head. The reaction was met with cheers from most of us.
"Okay, okay. Next one." Tara interrupted, holding up her cup. "Never have I ever had to take the walk of shame."
Everyone dropped a finger for that one, Charlie falling back into my side with a laugh. The two of us had definitely done the walk of shame multiple times. Darcy pushed herself off the floor to stand, dramatically raising her cup in the air.
"Never have I ever used a fake ID." I lowered a finger, smirking a little when I noticed the only other person to do so was Sahar.
"Nicholas Nelson!" Charlie playfully scolded, swatting at my shoulder. "You naughty boy."
