Nick POV

Charlie and I arrive home from our honeymoon a week before Tara and Darcy's baby is born. They've kept the gender a secret from everyone so we have all been having fun trying to guess what they will be.

It's a Tuesday night and Charlie and I are cuddled up on our sofa together, watching a rugby game that I know Charlie isn't really interested in. But he watches it with me anyway, preferring that over sitting by himself somewhere else in the flat. My phone buzzes on the coffee table and I have to disentangle myself from Charlie to reach out and grab it. We should have known from the simple fact that Charlie's phone was also chiming from our bedroom that it would be a baby announcement. But I let out a gasp when I see the message from Tara pop up on the screen.

Tara Jones: Welcome to the world little Greyson Elias Jones. Mumma Darcy is doing so well and we both love our little boy so much already. Born at 2.17pm on November 21st.

There is a picture attached and I show the phone to Charlie who looked up curiously when I gasped.

"Oh my god, he's so cute!" Charlie gushed, snatching the phone to look closer.

"He really is. And he looks just like Darcy." I know full well that the baby's looks could change dramatically as he grows up but for now at least, I'm happy that he resembles his mother more than the disgusting human that Darcy's been referring to as a 'sperm donor'. "Can I have my phone back so I can reply to her?"

"Nope. I already did." He shows me the message he's tapped out on my phone.

Nick Nelson: He's adorable guys. We can't wait to meet him. Hope you are all doing well. N+C

"I can't believe one of us has a baby." Charlie says, passing back my phone after taking another look at the adorable picture, "Like, an actual tiny human to look after."

"I know. But out of all of us, I'm glad it's Tara and Darcy. They're going to be amazing mums to that little boy." I agree, sitting back against the sofa and letting him cuddle into my side again.

"I want one." He says suddenly after a long moment of silence.

"One what?"

"A baby. With you."

"Uh, Char, I don't know how much time you spent daydreaming about me in biology classes but I'm pretty sure that's not physically possible." He gently slaps his hand against my chest and laughs with me.

"I know that, you dork. And I know we only just got married and are both still so young. But I do want to have a little mini you or mini me running around one day."

"So you want to try surrogacy for our future children?"

"I think so, yeah." He sits up a little. "You've imagined us having kids one day, right?"

"Of course I have. I've imagined having a son or daughter with your curly hair and my love of rugby, I can take them out to the parks on the weekend and teach them how to tackle. Or a kid with your eyes who loves books just as much as you. I'd spend hours reading to them."

"I can imagine that. I think a little boy or girl with your soft hair would be just so cute. I can see you giving them piggy back rides around the house." He's got this dreamy look in his eyes that makes me smile and want to kiss him.

"How many kids do you want to have, Charlie?"

"I don't know, really. At least two. But it would be fun to have a big family with you. Imagine a house full of kids and dogs." Now I really have to kiss him. I pull him close, crashing our lips together as the image of what he described flashes behind my eyes.
