Boco was proud to be working on the Island of Sodor. He had a lease on life and many wonderful friends. He is able to pull any train without fault, which was amazing considering his past.
Boco is a British Railways Class 28 Deisel who worked in the Furness area of Cumbria. He got his name because of his Co-Bo wheel arrangement. Boco and his brothers also had to deal with teething troubles, which was mainly caused by their engines, which was an experimental version BR wanted to test out.
This unfortunately didn't work out, and Boco was afraid he would be scrapped.
Thankfully, the Fat Controller purchased him and gave Boco a complete overhaul, which included an engine that works properly. Boco had a new lease on life, and he was assigned to the Brendam Branchline to work alongside Edward, Derek, Timothy the oil engine, and the china clay twins Bill and Ben.
We now join Boco with the engines from the Vicarstown National Railway Museum. He had just delivered coal and fuel for the working engines there. The engines were very grateful for his help, and Boco was glad to have them as friends. The railway museum fleet includes Ned, an elderly Furness Railway G1 tank engine, Niel, Clive, and Matthew, three box tanks from the Sodor and Mainland Railway, Colin, Lily, and Adam, a trio of engines from the Wellsworth and Suddery Railway, Glynn, a coffeepot engine from the Elsbridge and Knapford Railway, Micheal, a Challenger Class locomotive from the Union Pacific, Gina, a small green tank engine from Italy, Fredia, a large blue tender engine from Germany, Hiro, a black tender engine from Japan, Ashima, a colorful tank engine from India, and Cuthbert, a red tender engine from Australia with the letters WAGR on his tender.
One day, Boco was on one of his usual coal deliveries to the Railway Museum when he heard a commotion in Vicarstown. He rumbled to the station and discovered Niel, Clive, Matthew, Adam, and Ashima arguing with a British Railways Standard Class 2. Boco couldn't make it out at first, so he decided to uncouple from his train and see what was going on.
"As I keep telling you, Diesels are devious dickheads!" snarled the Class 2. "They will end up sending you all to the scrapyard, just like all my mates!"
"Rubbish!" scoffed Niel. "Most of the diesels here are kind and hardworking. Not to mention the Fat Controller would never scrap us!"
"Besides, the Fat Controller can't save every engine. It just wouldn't be feasible!" agreed Adam.
"Pah! I'm sure if he wanted to, he could have saved at least a few of my mates!" Scowled the visitor. "Instead, they all were sent to Barry's Scrapyard with me! I was lucky to have made it out of that horrible place alive! In fact, I think those dirty boxes on wheels should be all sent to the scrapyard and cut up alive!"
Boco: HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!
The visitor looked toward the voice and was instantly bumped and pushed towards the end of the line at a very fast speed. Before he knew it he was pushed off the rails and into the sea below. Boco looked down at where the steam engine fell, his face redder than Berty the Bus.
"YOU MISERABLE OLD RELIC! SCRAPPING IS NOTHING TO JOKE ABOUT!" shouted Boco, looking at the river. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS, FOR STEAMIES AND DIESELS?!?!??!?!?!"
Ashima: Boco!
Boco: What?!
Ashima: Boco, you just bumped Barry into the sea!
Boco was shocked and looked down into the river. "I-I didn't mean-!"
Adam: We got to go rescue him! I'll go call Mickey!
Mickey, the head of the Islands Search and Rescue center, responded with all due haste and professionalism. He was able to rescue the visiting engine and shunted him in the Vicarstown Rail museum works. After that, he jumped right into an investigation. After gathering testimony from the witnesses involved, the chief turned his attention to Boco.
