It was Haloween night on the Island of Sodor. Everyone was getting ready for haloween, buying costumes and writing down ghost stories. Percy was always on the hunt for ghost stories, hoping to give Thomas a good scare. He hadn't been sucessful so far, but one day he would hear of a story that would shake him to his core.

One day, Percy was filling up on coal and water at the yard in Barrow in Furness in England when he heared a familar whistle. Percy looked up to see Stephney the bluebell engine pulling in to top up. Percy was very suprised and very happy.

"Hello stephney!" Percy said happily. "What brings you here?"

"I'm here on a special railtour." Stephney replied. "The Bluebell Railway is hosting a Halloween Gala in a couple weeks, and wants me to promote it all over the UK. See those coaches over there?"

"Yes." Percy said, looking at a pair of long coaches painted light blue.

"These coaches are equipped with a tellie that shows a video about our upcoming Gala." Stephney explained. "We have various ghost stories to tell during that time, but we need to come up with more."

Suddenly something popped right in Percy's smokebox.

"Hey Stephney." Percy said. "I might have an idea of a story that you can tell in the gala."

Stephney: Really? Wicked! What is it?

Percy: Meet me at Tidmouth Sheds tommorow night and I'll tell you.

Stephney: Righto.

Stephney did his railtours through th erest of th eday and by th enext night, he was at Tidmouth Sheds ready to hear percys story. Some of the other engines that were there were Gordon, James, Henry, Edward, Thomas, Toby, Daisy, Duck, Oliver, The Scottish Twins, and the story teller himself, Percy.  "Thank you all for coming." Percy said.

"What is this story about, little percy?" Gordon asked grumpily. "It better not be about that bloody ghost your driver saw on the telli!"

"Oh, its not that." Percy said cheekily.

"Well get a move on!" Henry snapped. "I need to pull th ekipper in a few hours and I dont want to be held up by-!"

"That's quite enough!" Edward snapped. He looked at Percy with a kind smile. "Go on, Percy."

Percy took a deep breath and started his story.

Percy: As I'm sure you all know, I was living at a workshop when the first Fat Controller met me. I met several engines there, many of whome were sold to other railways. But there was one engine in particular that I'll remember for th erest of my life.

*Flashback to Percy's Workshop, in 1923*

We join Percy with several other engines, chattering among themselves. They were talking about which railway they are going to call home.

"I would like to work on the famous LNER." said Pug, a small black tank engine with four wheels.

"Pah! The LNER is filled with nothing but stuck-up old fusspots!" Jinty replied. He was an LMS Jinty Class Shunter built for shunting. "I met a couple of those A3's in the yards, and they are the definition of pompus."

"They can't all be bad, can they?" Percy asked. "I saw a couple of them not too long ago, and they seem pretty nice."

"Trust me percy. Those A3s are proud and boastful." Jinty replied. "I would love to put them in ther place one of these days."

"You might want to pip up lads." Pug said. Here comes the guv."

The works manager came towards the engines with a big grin on his face. Puffing up behind him was a large green tank engine from the Great Western Railway. The engine had a large boiler, two bogey wheels, six driving wheels and two trailing wheels. His enclosed cab was big enough to comfortably hold four people, and his body shape was unlike anything the engines had seen before. "Good morning, everyone." The manager said. "This is Swindon. He is going to be put on trial here."
