The Titanic was one of the most famous cruise liners in the entire world. Finished in 1912, she was considered "Unsinkable" by the world, and was set to have a long and faithful career ahead of her. Her maiden voyage was set to start from Southampton Docks in England to New York City in The United States of America. With Captain John Smith at the helm, Titanic left England for her maiden voyage amongst heavy fanfare. Unfortunately however, the Tianic's maiden voyage would ultimately be her last. As the Titanic was crossing the Atlantic Ocean, she struck an Iceberg and sunk into the ocean floor, the water flooding her compartments causing her to split in two. Over 1,500 people died with her, with over 700 passengers surviving the disaster.
Many people were shocked at the tragedy. Many have lost friends and loved ones due to the tragedy, and many people blamed the Titanics disaster on the Titanics designer, Bruce Ismay. Titanics death ensured that safety standards on cruise ships become a number one priority.
Several decades later, the wreck of the Titanic was discovered by a US Oceanographer named Dr. Robert Ballard and French oceangrapher Jean-Louis Michel.
The bow was mostly intact, and the stern was very badly damaged. Ever since the discovery, people al over the world have been brainstorming to try to bring the Titanic to th esurface, but to no avail.
So it was decided that the Titanics wreck will stay where it is.
But the discovery of the famous wreck would have very serious and unexpected concequences.
It was April of 2012 the one hundredth anniversary of the Titanics untimely end. The Island of Sodor was holding a celebration in her honor, as several Sudrians boarded Titanic via Knapford Harbor. As a result, extra trains were coming in from the mainland. Gordon and Rebecca were pulling more coaches more frequently to and from Barrow in Furness, and Pip and Emma had taken several extra coaches on their trips to London. This made them exhausted and irritable.
This was especially true one night in the sheds. Pip and Emma were just backing into the sheds near Gordon and Rebecca, whos faces were red with exhaustion.
"Bust my buffers!" Rebecca gasped. "This workload is intense!"
"I'll say!" Gordon snapped. "I had to pull eight large coaches back to back today! Honestly, I thought the summer season was bad enough. But this! I'd say the summer season was mild in comparison on the number of people coming here this past week."
"At least you two didn't have to travel all the way to London and back." Emma replied. "I'm surprised my wheels haven't worn down."
"Now, settle down everyone." Edward soothed. "I know that everyone is worn down, but you must remember that this upcoming celebration is important."
"Important?!?" Gordon scoffed. "How is celebrating a ship who sank a century ago important, Edward?"
"BECAUSE I HAD A CRUSH ON HER!!!!!!!" Edward shrieked.
Everyone was surprised at Edward's reaction. No one had ever seen him shout like that before. Edward breathed heavily for several minutes, until he finally realized what he did. Tears began rolling down his face, and Edward decided to chuff away.
Rebecca: Edward, what are you going?
Edward: I-I need some space! I'm sorry!
Edward chuffed out of the sheds as fast as his pistons can pump. He didnt stop until he went into an unused shed, far away from any known settlement. There, Edward burst into loud dreadful sobs. he cried and cried until he finally went to sleep.
When Edward woke up, it was already two in the afternoon. Edward was startled. He hadnt expected to sleep for as long as he did, and he began to worry about what the Fat Controller would say when he found out. Edward was breathing heavily and stopped when a familiar whistle rang out. Edwards brother, Mickey, who was the head of Sodors search and Rescue Center, managed to find Edward in the shed. Edward was very relieved to be found, but was horrified to find the Fat Controller in Mickeys cab.
