Chapter 15

Steve went back to his house to collect all of his belongings and move into Eddies trailer with him when he gets better. As soon as Steve walks into the door he hears a voice coming from inside the kitchen, "Get the fuck out of my house fag!" Steve's dad shouted. "I'm just getting my stuff then I'm fucking off because I don't want to live here with a selfish bitch like you." Steve spat walking up the stairs to his room gathering all his clothes, toothbrush and his special teddy that no one knew about, not even Eddie.

Steve hugged his teddy tightly before walking back down the stairs to see his dad hurting his mum, Steve immediately grabbed his baseball bat and ran up to his dad. Standing in between his mum and dad, "you touch her again and I'll swing this bat round your head!" Steve yelled with nothing but anger in his eyes. Steve whispered behind him, "Mum go out the back door and never come back." Steve's mum nodded and ran out the door.

Steve's dad was about the run after her but Steve swung the bat sharply at his knee making him fall to the ground begging for mercy, "You put Eddie in the hospital, give me one reason to not kill you right now!" Steve raised the bat, "Please Steven, I'll leave you and your mother alone." Steve's dad begged but Steve just scoffed and walked out the door heading to his car.

Steve got into his car and began to drive back to the hospital with all of his things in the back but his teddy on his lap. He started crying as soon as he pulled into the he hospital, grabbing his teddy, blanket and pillow. He was heading to Eddies room but then he heard a familiar voice behind him, "Hey Steve? Can we talk?" Jason looked down in disappointment. "Uhm okay?" Jason dragged Steve into a closet and began speaking.

"Why is Eddie hurt?" (J)
"My dad saw us two together and... *crying softly* h-he hit me and Eddie stood in... and took the hits for me." (S)
"I'm sorry Steve, for everything that's happened between us and for everything between me and Eddie. If I'm being honest it's just because of the environment I grew up in, my dad always taught me to hate freaks and gays but I always knew it was never right and I'm very very sorry." (J)
"I'm not the one you should be apologising to." (S)
"I was just about to, but then I saw you and deciding i should apologise to you first." (J)
"Okay, but now it's Eddies turn." (S)

Steve walked out of the closet and began walking to Eddies room again, Jason following. Steve sat outside with his stuff waiting for Jason to walk out from apologising to Eddie, Jason walked out and sat beside Steve. "He's not awake so I wrote a letter full of all the things I wanted to tell him so please get him to read it when he wakes up." Jason said to Steve and walked off.

Steve walked into the hospital room, setting his stuff aside and pulling another chair next to one another. Steve laid down and snuggled his teddy pretending it's Eddie but he couldn't sleep, "Awh you sleep with a teddy, how cute." Eddie said with a raspy voice, "Jason wrote you a letter and I think you should read it." Steve passed him the letter, "can you read it for me." Eddie coughed and passed the letter back to Steve.

"It says, 'I'm sorry Eddie for all the things I said, wrote and did to you. I shall explain why I acted this way, you see I woke up in an abusive household my dad hitting my mum calling her names like fag, slag, whore and one day I asked my dad what a fag was and he told me they were bad people and to never like them, but I loved my mum but soon after she died of cancer in her lungs. Sorry for the life story but anyway that's why I did those awful things to you and I have to say, I'm very very sorry Eddie Munson. Steve deserves you and you deserve Steve.
Yours dearly, Jason'."

"Wow that was very heartfelt." Eddie chuckled softly, "go back sleep Eddie, you need your rest." Steve kissed his forehead and waited for him to fall asleep before falling asleep himself, cuddling his teddy.

Jason isn't the bad guy anymore, I hope you liked this chapter and I'm sorry it's so short but I really needed to make my point that Jason was never the bad guy in the show just a broken hearted teenager. He also cared for Max a lot that's the only reason he beat up Lucas.
