Chapter 9: Diabetes

( Max's Pov)

I was laying in the hospital bed when I heard the door open, I looked over and saw Lucas. I immediately burst into tears as he ran over to hug me. " Are you ok" he asked sounding super concerned. " Ya i'm alright" I replied. He sat in a chair next to me and held my hand as the rest of the party came in to see me. " MAX" El shouted as she ran over to hug me. "I'm so happy you're ok" she continued. I was then met with hugs by Will, Dustin, and then Mike. "Max what did the doctors do" Will asked. "Well they ran some tests and did some scans, they also figured out what was wrong and were able to help me" I said " And" Lucas started " What did they do" he finished. " Well" I said " They told me that after I was punched by troy that caused some internal bleeding which  caused some trouble to the baby" I continued " So they had to give me an abortion" I finished. I saw all of the faces around me give me looks of sympathy. " I'm so sorry Max" Lucas said as he hugged me and gave me a kiss on the head. Even with the sympathy I could tell that Lucas was happy about the abortion. " Oh" I said catching everyone's attention, " While they were doing blood tests they noticed something was off so they ran more tests and found out that I have Diabetes," I said. All of my friends suddenly looked worried for me " Type one" I said " So there's no cure. The party then gave me lots of hugs and support. The next day before me and Lucas were able to leave the hospital I had to get an Insulin pump. Because I had type one diabetes that meant that my body didn't make enough Insulin for me to stay healthy. After I got my Insulin pump me and Lucas still had to wait for the doctor to give us the all clear to go home. " Hello guys my name's Doctor Shepherd ( if you know this show I love you) and I will be checking you out today". After we got the all clear I was so excited to go home. But now I ha to figure out how to live with Diabetes.
