Chapter 16: Do you get Deja Vu

( Max's Pov)

The next morning I woke up around 6am as always and had to wake up Lucas for him to carry me downstairs. " Thanks babe" I told him as he sat me on the couch and brought me a coffee. We cuddled for about 30 minutes when we heard someone come down stairs Lucas went to go see who it was and it was Dustin. " Hey guys why are you up so early" Dustin said as he walked into the living room with his coffee. " I always wake up early Dustin" I said to him. " Oh yaaaaa I forgot you're a morning person" He said while sipping his coffee. We all talked for a bit until we heard Will and El come down stairs. I stood up to go give El a hug. " HOLY SHIT MAX" Lucas shouted I looked at him confused then I looked down at my legs and realized. " HOLY SHIT AM STANDING AND WALKING" I shouted. Lucas ran over to hug me and then the next 5 minutes I was met with lots of hugs. All of a sudden my insulin pump started beeping " Hey guys can we get breakfast now, my blood sugar is low" Everyone nodded and we headed to Denny's for breakfast. We all ordered our food and started talking. " So El" I started she just looked at me. " Can we talk about what happened last night" I finished asking her. " I have to use the restroom" she said. Then she got up and walked away to the bathroom. I started to feel bad about bringing up the fight but then as El was walking up to the bathroom I saw an older looking guy start to follow her into the bathroom. " Oh hell no" I said and got up from the table. " Max are you ok what's wrong" I heard Lucas ask, I just ignored him and walked into the bathroom. I saw El being held against a wall by the guy and I could see tears running down her face. " Hey asshole" I said. He turned around to look at me and I pulled out my pepper spray and sprayed him in the eye. He fell to the ground and I grabbed El and brought her out of the bathroom. " Are you ok" I asked her" She nodded and hugged me " Thank you" She said " And i'm sorry for being a bitch earlier" She said. " It's ok" I told her. We headed back to the table and El told the boys what happened. As El was explaining everything I started to cry. I walked outside the restaurant and cried, Lucas came out and hugged me.
