Regular POV
"I got your mail for you!" Skips called back from the front door to the gum ball machine In the living room of his apartment . "Here," Skips handed him some envelopes, "Thanks." Benson looked through the mail. "It looks like you got the wedding invitation," Skips opened a similar cream colored envelope like Benson was holding. "From who?" "Mordecai, he's getting Married." "To who?" Benson's head shot up, the man who never got out of his mind ever since their night of intimacy 10 years ago was getting married?
"Well if you bothered to hang out with us once in a while you would've known that Mordecai's been dating a guy named Daniel for almost 6 years now." Skips sat down on the couch beside Benson. After 10 years Benson still kept up the park, after Mordecai and Rigby left High-five-ghost and Muscle man left, Mitch got a job at his father in laws company as a truck driver. High fives went with him.
Pops was still there, being as cheerful as ever. Skips had stayed at the park and helped, of course Benson hired more people but they weren't as close as the whole gang had been. "I've been busy." Benson protested. "Benson we've been over this before, every time we went out with everyone you had some excuse not to go. I know what happened between you and Mordecai but you have to let it go. You let him get away and for what? Just so you can bellyache about him leaving? At least he was nice enough to invite you to his special day, even though you've practically ignored him for so long. Your going to this wedding." Skips got up quickly, his mind was made up.
"No excuses, its this Tuesday, we're invited to go Sunday, because we're all invited to be 'Groom'sMen'."
"This Sunday? But why did they just now send invitations?" "Because Daniel's parents are in town and they didn't want them to miss the wedding. That's why we're going on Sunday to help, I already told Mordecai we would." Benson sighed, he couldn't do this. How could he? The guy he's been having secret feelings for was getting married to someone else.
Skips walked out to his garage. "I'm getting too old for this." He sighed, trying to meditate. He had a nagging thought that something was going to happen.
Mordecai's POV
"Baby wake up." Daniel shook my shoulder, I groaned, scooting farther underneath the blanket. "Time to get up Mordecai." Daniel whispered, "5 more minutes," I mumbled. "You said that 5 minutes ago, baby come on, you'll be late for work ." "Mmmgg." I got up,sluggish. Daniel chuckled, pulling me into a kiss, his black and silver feathered hair was already combed back. Our kiss deepened, sending me back on the bed.
"I thought you said I had to get up?" I mumbled against his lips. "We have time." He laughed, pulling me off the bed and into his lap. "Well I'm awake now, might as well get ready," I yawned, "Ah your no fun." "Yup." I stretched out, and headed to the bathroom to get ready. When I came out Danny already had breakfast ready. He opened my chair for me and I sat down, kissing him thanks. "Your friends got the invites right?" He asked, chewing on a bagel.
"Yeah, Skips said they all got one." I drank a sip of coffee. "Even him?" He asked reluctantly. I knew who he was talking about, Benson. After Rigby and I left the park I got calls from everyone, asking why we left or if we'd still hang out. I told them I just needed a change of pace and that we'd all still get together and hang out. Skips didn't seem to buy the first excuse, so of course I told him. He didn't seem too angry. Everyone came to see us once and awhile, we'd all go out every once in awhile, just to catch up.
But Benson never came to visit or go out, I'd ask Skips but he said Benson was busy, that was always the excuse. So I wouldn't be surprise if he didn't come to the wedding. "Yeah, even him." I downed the rest if my coffee and breakfast. "Thank you for making breakfast." I leant down and kissed my fiancé, he kissed back. "Anything for you baby." He put down his mug. "I'll be home by 5, remember Rigby and Eileen are coming over at 6:30 to help with the wedding, bye Danny." I slipped on my coat and walked out to my car.
I still work at the hotel, but I paint and my painting sell really well. Rigby did get a job as a stunt man, a few years ago. Not before Daniel convinced Rigby to go back to school, and he finished. I've never been more proud of him. I met Danny a couple of months after leaving the park. The hotel was adding a spa and he was one of the masseuse's. At first Rigby and I became good friends with him, we hung out and had fun. He'd even hang out with The gang. After awhile we got closer, and then one night 3 years after we met he confessed to me. I was just getting over Benson.
I didn't want to reject him, I knew how bad that felt all too well, so when he said "I love you." I said, "How about a date then?" We went to dinner the following Friday, and the next Friday and then a Tuesday, and I fell for him.
He proposed a year ago, of course I said yes. We'd been dating for 6 years. We had so many memories. He was so loving. I knew everything about him, that he told me. I know he knows a lot about me.
He was anorexic in high school for 3 years, his parents were alcoholics and he was sent to foster care after the neighbors heard his father try to beat him. My poor baby, his adoptive parents are much better he tells me. But he said since he was so skinny because of his biological parents his adoptive ones would feed him to the point of obesity, then he was bullied in high school and he started starving himself. He got help in senior year, but he had heart problems for awhile.
Today wasn't so busy at the hotel, Danny took the week off for our wedding and maybe a honeymoon, but I still had a lot of work to do, I'm a maintenance man, I was taught by an old man before he retired, I fix things mostly. Miria did die like she said, but she told me not to give up hope. I didn't. After work I drove back home and found Danny lying on the couch, watching a movie. "Hey baby," he turned to me from his spot on the couch. "Hey." I took off my shoes and coat, and laid back into him on the coach.
"Ugh I'm so tired." I yawned, he rubbed my shoulders, making me even sleepier. "I know what will wake you up." He smirked, kissing my neck. "No Danny, I'm too tired." I whined, he continued though, humming. After awhile it became too much, so I sat up and scooted to the other end of the couch and pouted. He laughed, advancing on me. "No Danny," he tickled my sides, making me laugh. "N-No means No haha D-Danny!" I tried to get away, but he held me tight, hugging me.
"Your so soft though." He rubbed his head on my stomach, and he slid up to see me face to face. I grumbled, giving up. "I know your tired, sorry for playing around." He nuzzled my neck apologetically. I held him back, so he turned me around on my stomach and started rubbing my back. I felt so much better, I heard a few cracks from my back. I groaned, all the tension from my back disappeared. "Feel good?" He asked, he had straddled my back. "Mhm." I felt so sleepy.
"We interrupting anything?" Rigby asked from behind, I turned around to find Rigby blushing and Eileen giggling. "R-Rigby?" My own face turned red as I realized the position we were in. "I-I thought you weren't coming till 6:30?" Daniel got off my back, and sat on the couch, but not before pulling me into his lap. "Danny," I hissed, embarrassed. "We wanted to get here early to help, sorry we didn't call first." Eileen explained, Rigby rolled his eyes.
Another big thing that happened was Eileen and Rigby started dating, they've been dating for about 4 years. "So what should we get started with?" Rigby sat at the kitchen counter of our little apartment, Danny and I moved in with each other about 2 years ago. Rigby took out a bag of candy from our cabinet and started eating it with Eileen. I laughed, grabbing some papers and ribbons for center pieces.
