-Benson's POV-

I sat him down in the single chair in front of my desk, in my office, he looked really uncomfortable and jumpy. I wonder what's wrong with him? I sat in my own seat and locked my hands together. "So Mordecai, how have you been?" I asked, small talk wasn't my best skill. He looked up from his hands, "Um F-fine, how about you?" He stuttered. That's weird he doesn't usually stutter. "Oh I'm good, listen sorry for yelling at you guys all the time, but you gotta learn how to stop being such slackers and get your work done." I said, tapping my desk for emphasis. He nodded. "Yeah sorry, Rigby needed help washing the cart so I-" I stared at him, "Whoa whoa wait, that was Rigby's job?" I interrupted, he nodded.

"Then why was I yelling at you for doing a job that wasn't your responsibility?, Mordecai I'm so sorry," He seemed to turn a shade of pink, he sure is modest. "W-well B-because Rigby needed help and, you don't have to apologize, I know you didn't know. It's ok." I sighed. "No it's not ok, I shouldn't have yelled, at either of you, I know you guys had a rough past." He nodded sadly, pain clearly in his eyes, " Yeah," He gulped. "Do you mind if I ask exactly what happened? If you dont mind." I added, he nodded again. "No it's ok, but I don't like talking about it too much, so I'll only tell you once," My chair squeaked when I moved in my chair, I think he did too, weird. Mordecai looked like he was about to throw up, he took a deep breath.

"Ok well here it goes, it was about 8 or 9 years ago, seeing as im 25 and it happened when we were 16 or 17, um Rigby's parent were driving with mine to go out for lunch and T-there was a Drunk truck driver and-, oh my gosh, excuse me." He covered his head in his hands. "I can still see the crash," He shuddered. "It's ok Mordecai you dont have to continue." I said quietly, poor guy.

Mordecai's POV

He touched my shoulder, I knew he felt me tense up because he let go right after. I shook my head. "No no it's ok, it should be good for me to talk about it right?, Neither of our parents survived not even the drunk driver so they couldn't charge him, we were notified at school soon after, Rigby was the one to take it the hardest, he quit school right after. Don wanted to too but I convinced him to finish with me while I took care of Rigby. We were doing fine for awhile I got a part time job and we did fine. I stayed by his side as much as I could despite school and my job,But the one time he decides to come out of his sadness and go for a walk without me, the one time!, He got beaten up by some punks!! If someone hadn't found him when they did it would have been too late. That's why we moved here to the park." I finished,

He nodded after hearing our story. "so you two have been through alot huh?" he asked looking out the window to see Rigby who was hosing off the soap on the cart. I looked out too, he saw me and waved, I waved back. But he left the hose on and sprayed Muscle Man, you could hear his girly scream through the windows. I laughed.

-regular POV-

Benson laughed too, "So you have anyone special right now, Margaret right?" He asked teasingly. Mordecai stopped, looking hurt. " Um actually We broke up, we tried but she kept cheating on me and my heart just couldn't take it, I have someone else I like though." He blushed. Benson nodded. "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, so who's the lucky girl?" Mordecai blushed harder. "Actually, it's a guy that I like." Benson coughed awkwardly. "Oh, well who is he?Do I know him?" "Um," Mordecai shifted awkwardly in his seat. "Y-yeah, you know him very well," "Have you told him you like him?" You could feel the tension in the air. "I haven't gotten around to telling him I like him yet, I don't think he's gay or even knows I like him." Mordecai laughed without humor. "Oh come on, you don't know unless you try." Benson smiled, trying to cheer him up.

"Well I guess your right. Benson?" "yeah?" Mordecai took a deep breath and exhaled. "I love you."
