Adrian and I were now at a standoff and he refused to leave. I knew this was bound to happen.
'Adrian please don't do this. I don't want to hurt you.' I pleaded with him.
'Ha! You hurt me?' I barked back.
He really didn't know how strong I had become, and I was about to show him. He was messing with the wrong Queen.

'I'm asking you now to back down or you'll die.' I told him.
'I'm not afraid of death. My soul left me after your broke my heart and went for this guy.' he replied.
'You said you would be fine. This is my castle after all and what I choose to do here is really none of your business. Now you've crossed the line and I won't stand here and let you try to control my life.' I told him. This was my castle still and whether I am a vampire and a widow made no difference. He was going to listen or be done for.

'Fine have it your way.' he says and fired a shot from his gun aimed at Gideon.
I jumped in front of that bullet and knocked it away with me sword. I was faster than he thought because the look of surprise showed on his face.
'Okay you want a fight you have one.' I told him and ran to him faster than he could blink. We fought with much rage and anger. He was not going to back down.

'I have tolerated you being here for too long and I'm sorry that this is the way things are. But you must learn to let things go.' I told him in hopes he would stop this and leave.
'I don't want to fight you. I want to fight him.' he told me as he fired another bullet towards Gideon. He missed again by my sword because I was faster than his bullet. Gideon jumped in and stood by side ready to fight.

'Gideon please don't get involved in this. This isn't your fight.' I pleaded with him
'I'm already involved so I will fight with you.' I told me.
'Oh, isn't that cute. A power couple.' Adrian laughed.

'Shelley what's going on?' I heard Fira in the distance.
'Adrian is pissed that I won't love him.' I told her.
'Want me to take care of him for you?' she asked.
'No thanks. He's going to have to deal with me now.' I told her.

Gideon and Fira watched on as Adrian and I went back and forth between gun fire and sword swinging. I was getting angry that he let this drag out. He needed to be finished with and I don't want to have to do this, but I was done fighting.

'Adrian I am asking one final time to end this.' I told him.
'I'll end it when I'm dead.' he replied.

Fine you want to die then death is what you will get.
I flew with speed he couldn't see and without giving much thought of how fast my sword was I waved it with all the power I had.

'You can't have?' Adrian said in disbelief.
'I'm sorry I had to do this.' I told him.
'Well I hope you're happy.' he replied.
His head rolled behind him as he fell to his knees.

I dropped my sword and fell to my knees. I didn't want to do this to him. I had known him since we were children. His heart was never this bad. He was a trickster I always knew this. I wondered if being turned by Marlots army was the cause for this.

'Shelley is there anything I can do?' Gideon asked as he got on his knees next to me.
'He used to be such a good guy. I didn't want this for him. I told him many times that I was not in love with him.' I replied. I did not cry for him because he needed the will to stop this but didn't.

I asked Fira to help me bury him so that he could rest properly. She was almost against it because of what he did but she came to her senses once I told her what my thoughts were about his mind being corrupted by Marlot.

We buried him in the woods in a place where the sun would always shine. He deserved the sun on his grave to expose the goodness in his heart that was hidden. I went back to my room where I stayed for a few days. I was ready to move on and I needed to let all this go.

I hadn't had any mental sleep in months it seemed, so I decided I would go ahead and close my eyes. I drifted off into a coma like sleep. I don't know how long I had slept or what day it was. I felt bad when I had to ask Fira when I found her in the courtyard.

She understood the need for sleep. Everyone needs sleep to refresh themselves whether they are undead or alive. I felt better now than I had in two months. My mind felt clear and I felt ready to get this battle over with.

I hadn't seen Gideon since I woke up and I wondered where he could be. I hope he didn't leave and go back to his kingdom, although I didn't blame him if he did. I wanted more than anything to see him. To hold him close and feel his touch. I went to the balcony too look over the courtyard in hopes I could find him out there. His men were still here so he had to still be here.
Before I had a chance to even turn around Gideon came bursting through the door and looked as if he was out of breath from running.
'Gideon! What's wrong?' I asked as calmly as I could.
