The place was completely deserted at the entrance, not a soul to be seen or found and the castle seemed to like it that way. The man in the car took my things out of trunk and set them at the door and told me to enjoy my time and shook my hand then got in his car and left. It took me a minute, but he slipped a cross bracelet into me hand without me realizing it and probably had a good reason behind it, but I couldn't be sure, so I just slipped it around my wrist and went to the door. The doorbell rang loud and clear and it was obvious that someone would know that I'm here.I waited for what seemed like less than a minute and was greeted by a smiling older lady.
'hello, you must be Shelley. My name is Maria. Please come in.' Maria instructed me and helped me with my bags.
'thank you.' I replied and followed her in.The building was beautiful as if you were entering another time in the world. There were tapestries hanging from the walls to hide the brick behind it. There was two knights armor propped up across from each other in the room. We entered the main stairway that had two set of stairs that went down into the main floor that exposed a great hall that could be used for balls and parties. The room was decorated with gold and red as if there were a party about to be had.
'I will show you to your room where you can shower, and change and you can wait there till I tell you when Master Draven is ready for you and when dinner will be served. Master Draven asks that you do not wander about til he has a chance to show you around and you will dine with him tonight when you meet him. I do ask that you dress in something nice when you meet him to make a good impression as he is has waited for you and I do want him to be happy with you upon meeting you.' Maria told me.
'okay.' I replied with nothing more that I could think to say. Why would I have to dress to impress a man I had never met? After All he's the one who requested me to come here. I guess I didn't have much of a choice and decided I would do as recommended,
We went down a long and what seemed like a never-ending hallway that I wished that would end already because I was extremely tired at this point. We finally got to my room and she showed me around, the bathroom was well stocked with towels as well with soaps and shampoos so that was nice. The bed was bigger than my whole life.
Maria left me be and told me again she would call me down when dinner is ready. I was kind of relieved when I was alone to gather myself and what this place looked like. It was mysterious place that was for sure and there were plenty to discover about this place. I was sure I would be able to find something. But just what would I find out? I did wonder where I would find a post office to send any kind of letters back to the office to let them know I was okay and that I wouldn't need anything as far as I knew.
The water was warm against my tired skin. I felt like I could use a nap before I met with the master of the house. I did take a nap to refresh myself before meeting the master of this castle. My dreams were weird this time around. I saw ghosts and blood everywhere. There were fires and faded images of people I had never seen before. Were my dreams trying to tell me something, but I couldn't figure out what was being told. I woke up just at sun down and I wondered how much longer I would have to wait for Maria to come get me.
I wondered what Draven would be like. I hoped he wasn't mean. That's all I wanted. It seemed really empty here and it made me wonder why. Maybe I could convince him to throw a grand ball since he has the beauty of this giant castle to do so. But why weren't there people running about? Wouldn't I see workers or people out in the fields? What kind of place was this?
The luxury of this bathroom was much bigger than my apartment alone and my room was as big as a house. The bed frame was bigger than any bed I've ever slept in, with black curtains to surround me during the day if I were to sleep. I hope sleeping during the day wasn't normal here but from the looks of it nothing seemed to happen til nightfall. The bedding was of red silk which felt wonderful and looked beautiful. The room had a long wall that was just a bookshelf with more books than I've ever seen in one place.
There was a door that opened to a balcony that overlooked a number of many gardens.
