You sat at the kitchen table next to little Jimin, watching him slowly consume a plate of chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs. It always took forever for him to eat the Dino nuggets because he spent so much time playing with them but it was cute, so you didn't mind as long as he also ate his apple slices. He bit the head off of the last one and then set it down on his plate.
"I'm full," he said, looking up at you with crumbs on his lip.
You couldn't help but smile as you handed him a napkin and watched him rub at his mouth, grinning at you after. You gave him his juice - in a 'big boy cup' at his request and watched him hold it with two hands as he drank.
"Noona, Jiminie is gonna go to school soon," he told you after he set his glass down.
His eyes were wide and just a little nervous as he looked at you.
"Hm, big Jimin is going to school soon, right?" You asked.
He nodded, sucking his lower lip into his mouth and chewing at it worriedly.
"What do you think about that?" You asked him, resting your head on your chin and tilting it to the side.
He frowned in thought.
"Scary," he said then softly, looking at you.
"Don't wanna."
"Aw Minnie," you said, reaching for him.
He clumsily got out of his chair and climbed into your lap, straddling your legs and pressing his chest to yours, hiding his face in your shoulder.
"It isn't scary. Noona goes every day, you can do it," you told him, running your hands up and down his back encouragingly.
"But what if - what if people are m-meanies," he said, his lips brushing your neck as he spoke.
Hoseok and Taehyung were coming down the stairs then, talking to each other. They saw you with Jimin and Taehyung tilted his head to the side quizzically.
"What's wrong baby?" Hoseok asked, coming around behind you to peer at Jimin's face peeking over your shoulder.
"He's a little bit nervous about school," you told them.
"Minnie!" Taehyung exclaimed, making him perk up and sniff a little, looking at his Tae. "Don't be nervous! School is fun, you get to learn so much new stuff."
"And you're going to be making art, your favorite thing," Hoseok agreed.
"People might be meanies, but you're still you," you told him softly.
Seokjin had stepped quietly into the kitchen and sat down at the table and was watching fondly.
"It doesn't matter what any of them think. And we love you lots."
"Thank you noona," Jimin said quietly, hanging his head.
"Are you still a little nervous?" You asked him.
He nodded.
"Are you maybe just a little excited too?" You asked, poking his ribs and smiling at him.
He giggled and couldn't help but grin softly and nod.
" 'm excited," he agreed, smiling and shifting around on your lap as the excitement bubbled in him and his smile got bigger.
Then, as he often did when he got too excited his eyes went wide and he leaned toward you.
"Kisses!" He said, waiting for you to lean in and peck his lips.
