Early dawn the next morning, she and Martyn packed their things. Then started in a direction they didn't explore yet.
The chirping of morning birds and frantic flaps of morning doves greeted her all around. They got to the top of a tall hill, looking down at the jungle she had seen the day before.
Stepping over some tall ferns, she glances up at the sky. A beautiful combination of light orange and purple.
They had rosed at about 6 in the morning. Having a hard time falling asleep, and getting a good night's rest as a matter of fact. Pearl's back and neck ached annoyingly as she trudged through the birch forest alongside the donkey Martyn's riding on.
Her dog ran up ahead.
Arriving on top of a hill after half an hour, Pearl sat down. She and Martyn were just enjoying the morning breeze when someone shouted out a hello.
Pearl's head turns sideway to see Jimmy coming up the hill, a sword, and shield in both hands.
"It's a Jimmy." She pointed out. Standing up to her feet.
"Wait. Are you two soulmates?" He asked once he got to them. A look of curiosity filled his brown eyes.
"No, no, no. We're not." Martyn reassures Jimmy, "We're just best mates." Gesturing a finger at her, and then at himself.
Did she and Martyn look like soul bounds?
They did stick together longer than they were supposed to. When they should have gone separate ways to find their soulmate. So perhaps that might make them appear soul-bounded.
"Oh my god, I just remembered seeing Joel get killed by an endermen," Jimmy exclaimed, checking behind his shoulder. "Which is great."
Pearl chuckled at that. She can see where Jimmy was going with this. Having died first with Tango, he was sure to be happy to know that they weren't the only pair that lost a life.
"It's been a long time since we last saw each other." Jimmy said after a moment, looking back and forth between her and Martyn.
"You're a yellow right now. Did you even meet Tango before it happened or not?" Martyn inquired, shifting on the saddle.
"No. No." He answered bluntly, hopping from one foot to another.
"So was your first interaction with your soulmate at spawn, just shouting at one another?" Martyn inquired with a grin.
"Yeah. Um so... awkward first day." Jimmy said, looking at his shoes. "Everything despawned when I went back to retrieve my stuff. So now I am- uh.. broke."
Pearl gave Jimmy a look of pity, opening her inventory, looking for something to give him. To help him at least. Eye landing on the iron she had.
"Here. Have some iron." She offered, handing over ten pieces.
She watched him store the iron and turn to Martyn. Looking expectantly. "Alright. Martyn. Give me some stuff too."
"I'm just gonna give you a firm handshake," Martyn simply said, grabbing Jimmy's hand for a shake, then pulled the rein. Forcing his donkey to gallop down the hill.
"Hey-hey! Martyn?!" Pearl shouted down at the blond, then quickly turn to face Jimmy who was looking after Martyn's escaping figure too. "Sorry about him. I hope you well in this Double Life series Jimmy."
"You don't need to apologize, Pearl." Jimmy smiled at her, and bend down to pet her dog friend. "I'm thankful for the gift."
She watches her dog licking Jimmy's hand. Before backing up, one hand in her pocket, and wave a farewell to Jimmy when she hear Martyn's donkey galloping back up the hill. The donkey braying out when its head brushed against some tree branches.
