Earlier in the helicopter–as the trucks are being rerouted
Marmalade gleefully watched as the trucks down below were inching closer towards his mansion, where he would reunite with all the money raised in his honor. Of course, Luna and Snake would be receiving their cuts. Though, Snake much rather preferred a meal composed solely of guinea pigs. But he couldn't say that to Marmalade.
As she listened to Marmalade boast about all the money coming his way and that he was just about done pulling the greatest heist in history (as if he couldn't boost his own ego enough), Luna put her fingertips together, concentrating on them until electromagnetic cyan light beams emanated from them. She slowly drew her fingers apart, strengthening the hue and the charge. While she had a lot to learn over the next few months, she figured it wouldn't hurt to get some practice in now. Who knows, maybe Marmalade could help her become an elemental witch.
"No no no! That's my stolen money!" Marmalade seethed, snapping Luna out of her magic focus. She scrambled over to the edge of the helicopter, looking down to see that the trucks were now delivering the bags of cold hard cash to their rightful locations. If she was already trained and well-equipped with range, she perhaps could have hit the remaining trucks with her powers to deter them.
"What good are you if you can't even anticipate their next move?!" Marmalade fumed, turning to his reptilian partner.
"Oh, so this is my fault?" Snake hissed.
"Yes, it is!"
Luna rolled her eyes. How she would've loved to strangle them both with her cyan sparks just to temporarily shut them up. As she was forced to listen to Marmalade and Snake's bickering, she continued to peruse the city down below, furrowing her eyebrows a little when she noticed a lone black figure standing on a rooftop. Yellow accents helped them stand out a little more.
Diane.
Looks like she would get her wish after all.
"Hey, how about you two morons shut up and focus on our current problem?" Luna said as she concentrated on Diane, who in turn seemed to be looking back up, determining her next move.
"Insulting you and coming up with some snarky remark is my thing," Snake commented as he and Marmalade broke apart, following Luna's gaze. "What the–what is she doing here?"
"It seems like Miss Crimson Paw wants to play," Marmalade smirked. "Say, Miss Luna, why don't you try out your crown? I'm sure you'll do a better job at controlling my little pigs than this imbecile can," he said, earning a glare from Snake.
"With pleasure," Luna agreed. She closed her eyes, allowing her thoughts to travel towards her crown, fueling its gems with power. She opened her eyes, the rings around her irises now glowing brighter. She surveyed the landscape for any nearby trucks. Once she pinpointed a few, she summoned all the guinea pigs inside them towards the building Diane was on. Not breaking her focus, she willed them to scamper up the sides of the building and onto the rooftop, startling the governor.
Not to anyone's surprise, Diane quickly vaulted over them. In response, Luna sent some more her way, trapping her.
Let's see how you get out of this one, Governor.
"Well done, Miss Luna," Marmalade praised as Diane was now nearing the edge of the rooftop. "I knew I could count on my witch."
Luna rolled her eyes at the remark as she watched Diane produce a whip, using it to lasso and fling several guinea pigs out of the way. As expected of the Crimson Paw: multiple, on-the-spot backup moves. And Luna had one too.
