A year passed by since Christian and Bree got married. Their family seems to get together very well, the kids start to accept him as their second father. William is still visiting every so often and he takes the kids out giving him and Bree some alone time.
It was a warm summer afternoon the sun is shining brightly, almost lifting the whole city's energy. Bree is sitting next to him on the couch with his arm around her waist. The woman is 7 months pregnant with their first child.
Christ touches her pregnant belly, smiling "Will we have a boy or a girl?"
"Which one do you prefer?" Bree looks at him with her big emerald eyes.
"Oh dear, I don't mind." He kisses her temple.
Bree smiles sincerely. Her heart is finally full.
They are watching the kids running around the yard while playing some kind of ball game. Their laughs are her sun, the only reason she wants to live.
An expensive vehicle enters their house, the brown woody exterior is newly retouched, the gold handle really screams class. It is her ex husband.
William come to pick up the kids that day, he waved his hand from outside the window to the couple who are sitting in the living room. And the smiles on the kids face grow brighter once they see him, anyone can see that they love their father.
The father is takling his youngest playfully, trying to grab the ball.
"No! Father I will lose!" The youngest tries to gets away.
"Don't let him go father! Claire, quick run!" The older brother instructs with a big grin on his face.
The young lady runs her heart out to the safe base, her forehead is sweaty and her breath is short. But she finally made it! "Hahaha, thanks dad! You are the best!"
"We win! Hahaha" the older team hugs and celebrated.
"Father! We lose because of you!" The kid frowned and punches his father playfully. "You have to make it up to us!"
"Okay.. okay.. how can I make it up to you?" The father taps his son's head.
"You have to take us to the city and buy us toys.."
"Deal!" He hugs his youngest tightly.
The warmth in their laugh radiating so strongly.
Christian gulped. What a happy family.
He looks at his now wife, thinking to himself.
Were they a happy family before he came along?
Did he ruin a picture perfect family?
Guilt started to creeps into his heart. Maybe he really did. That's what everyone was saying when they know that the duke and duchess is divorced. He bits his lower lips, contemplating. He feels sorry for the kids.
Was it his selfishness that ruin them. Or was it their mother's infidelity?
He finally mustered courage to ask Bree the one question that he always wanted to ask.
A question that the whole world seems to be wondering sick about.
"Why did you cheat on him?" He mumbles.
"Huh?"
"You, and the duke had a perfect life, a perfect family. Happy kids, successful husband." Christian stops and takes a deep breath and then continue-
"And most importantly, he loves you." Even he knows how much the duke loves Bree.
His heart is beating hard, is it too intrusive to ask?
Bree is silent for a few long seconds, she looks up at his eyes. Moving her body to slightly facing his direction.
Christian is nervous, he can feel her hesitation.
But finally she answers in a faint voice.
"Chris, William is my brother."
