[No lie, watching y'all have an absolute mental breakdown over the last few chapters was hilarious.
Also idk if we're still there, but somehow we got #1 in Ovenbreak. Seriously how?
Thanks for the support guys, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!]
—————————————————————————You groaned as you flopped onto your bed. Tomorrow was the school musical, and you felt a mix of nervousness, excitement, and exhaustion.
You've been practicing for a long time now, but your stomach still had butterflies. From what you heard, there would be a few talent scouts in the audience, hoping to find students there that they could turn into pros.
If by any chance you got scouted, you would be one step closer to your dream. It excited you, but also filled you with nervous dread. You didn't know what connections these scouts had, and a bad performance might just end your acting career before it even starts.
You sighed as you started getting into bed, but your nerves were put on hold as you heard your phone buzz. You picked it up from your bed, only to see that you were getting texts from your friends.

Popping Candy: Hey Y/n! Can't wait to see your performance tomorrow!
Choco Ball: Yeah! Can't wait to see you up there!
Cherry Ball: Hope you do well! We're still hanging out afterwards right?
You smiled as you read their messages, and blushed as you read Choco Ball's. Somewhere inside of you, a fire lit up. There was nothing like performing in front of your friends, and knowing they'll be in the audience made you want to do your best. You typed your response to the group.
Y/n: Thanks guys! I'll do my best, see u guys after the show!
[The next day, right before the show]
"10 minutes everyone!" The student director said, alerting everyone to start getting ready to go onstage. You took a deep breath as you checked yourself over on last time.
You weren't playing the lead, but your role was still pretty important. No doubt all eyes would be on you at some points during the show, and it made you a bit nervous.
After confirming that you looked fine, you took out your phone, opening the messages app so you could reread the messages from last night. For some reason, reading encouraging messages from your friends always helped you calm down.
It was no exception here, the thought of your closest friends watching and supporting you helped you start to calm down. By the time the director said it was almost time, you were almost completely calm and ready to perform your best on stage.
You stood in the wings of the stage, waiting for your cue to go on. In your hands was the script, and you looked down at it to make sure you knew your lines. Eventually, you put it to the side, ready to go onstage.
"Now, where oh where could Erin be?" One of the actors said. That was your cue, so you walked onto the stage, getting into Erin's mindset.
"Did someone call my name?" You asked, walking onto the stage in front of what was hundreds of people.
"Erin! We were looking for you! We were about to head off into the woods, do you want to come with us?"
"Hm, I don't have anything to do today. I would be glad to join you!"
"Great! Now let's ask Alex and Alice if they want to come too! Come on guys!"
"Coming Camila!"
[Near the end of the show]
"Guys, we have to get back, quick!" The lead actor playing Camila said with urgency. The final scene was upon you guys, and so far the show has been going off without a hitch. You had no intention of breaking your character, and it almost felt like you had become Erin completely.
"Here, I'll lure the beast over! The rest of you need to take action according to plan!" You replied, heading to one side of the stage. The rest nodded and headed to the other side to prepare for their next parts.
"Ok, I only have one chance at this." You said softly, but loud enough for the audience to hear. "I'm over here! Come after me!"
You quickly headed towards the other side of the stage, making way for the next part. You wouldn't be coming on again until the final scene, so you decided to take a quick look at the crowd.
There were quite a lot of people in the crowd, but eventually your eyes landed on Popping Candy, Cherry Ball, and Choco Ball. They were all smiling wide, and seemed caught up in the show. It made you smile as well, and seeing Choco Ball's attentive expression made you blush a bit.
As soon as you realized you were blushing, you quickly looked away from your friends to calm yourself down. Seriously, you needed to stop actively looking for or thinking about Choco Ball at times like these. At least, not until you got a hold of your feelings towards him. Uggh, why is he so damn fine?
Once you calmed down enough for your mind to stop wandering towards the hot soccer player, you looked out to see where the play was at. Turns out, it was almost time for you to go back out for the ending. Taking a deep breath, you got into Erin's mindset once again as you headed out for the second to last time tonight.
"We did it! We did it!" Alice's actor said excitedly, heading back out onstage.
"We did, the plan worked perfectly!" You added on.
"Yeah! Oh, we should probably get back home. Our parents are gonna scold us if we're late again!" Camila's actor stated.
"Oh yeah, let's go!"
"Right!"
The five of you headed off stage as the curtains closed, signaling the end of the show. The crowd applauded loudly afterwards, and you and the other members of the show headed up on stage to take your bows. First were the people with smaller roles, to which everyone clapped and cheered for them. Then it was time for you and the others playing Camila and her friends to go and bow, making the audience cheer even louder. The students that worked backstage came up next, receiving loud cheers as well. You and the rest of the cast waved and bowed again to the crowd as the curtains closed for the last time.
A huge wave of pride swept over you as you headed backstage to change back into your everyday wear. The show went so well, and you were super happy with your performance. Even if you didn't get scouted, you could at least rest easy knowing your friends and crush probably liked it.
You changed your clothes and packed your bag quickly, saying goodbye to everyone else in the drama class as you headed out. Your friends were waiting for you outside, and there was no way you were gonna leave them waiting.
