Chapter 5: Feelings Revealed

I pulled my car into The Voice parking lot and made my way into the studio. Today we're having a meeting as a full team. Adam is also going to call us in individually to have a vocal lesson. I'm really excited now that I actually am in the studio today. As soon as I got into Adam's conference room and sat down, Adam himself walked into the room.

"Hey everyone! I'm glad we could all get together like this so we could all get to know each other a little better. I just wanted to tell you all that I'm really proud of everyone on my team. I really feel like we could win this thing this year! Now, I'm going to call you all into the studio one by one to do a little vocal lessons and record a little something to show you how everything works. While I'm with someone in the booth, why doesn't everyone else talk and get to know each other!"

We all nodded in agreement. Adam smiled and then called in one of the guys, Thomas was his name I think. One by one people were taken from the room until I was left by myself. I guess once they were done with Adam he let them leave, i thought to myself. 

After what seemed like an eternity, Adam finally came into the room to get me. He waltzed into the room, turned the lights off, and closed the door all before I could even stand up from my chair.

"Lily, I saved you for last because I wanted to talk to you about something." Adam whispered barely audibly. 

"Okay, but why are we whispering?" I too asked in a hushed tone. I couldn't help but smile at Adam's face as he got closer and closer to mine. Why is he acting so strange? I had a feeling that something big was about to happen, but I just didn't know what.

"I don't want anyone to know we're in here because then I wouldn't be able to this." Adam declared just before bringing his hands to my face and his lips down to mine. Adam Levine was kissing me then and every single thing that I told myself I should do last night left my mind instantly. 

When he finally broke the kiss to let me breathe I whispered, "I can't believe that just happened." I wasn't very sure if Adam even heard me until he pulled me close to him and chuckled in my ear. My heart was pounding against his chest, my breathing uncontrollable. I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that I was in Adam's arms.

He gave me a quick peck on the lips before pulling away. "Now listen very closely. I like you, a lot Lily. I want this to work out between us, but if anyone on the show finds out about us we'll both be in a lot of trouble. Please tell me you want this too? Please."

"I feel the same way, but I'm scared Adam! I don't want either of us to get in trouble. I like you too, I guess that much was proven two minutes ago." I wanted to add, "when my tongue was down your throat." but before I could say anything else Adam pulled me to him again and his mouth was on mine.

"Let's go to the studio and get to work. Now that I got that out of the way I think I could finally concentrate on working with you!" Adam exclaimed as we walked down the hall to the recording booth. Adam walked ahead of me and held the door for me, such a gentleman. 

We worked for about an hour and a half, longer than all of my other team-mates, but my time was prolonged because Adam kept interrupting me to pull me in for quick pecks on my cheeks, nose, and of course lips. I recorded one of my favorite songs, Treacherous, by Taylor Swift. While Adam was setting up I started singing the song quietly, reviewing the words. 

I finally stepped into the recording booth and placed the headphones on my ears. I heard the beginning sounds of the guitar and was immediately entranced. I was no longer in the little booth, I was in my own little world singing with all the emotion I was feeling at this very moment.

Put your lips close to mine,

As long as they don't touch.

Out of focus, eye to eye
