Your eyes flutter as they adjust to the light, the smell of ketchup dances around your nose.
Your eyes focus on the figure in front of you, you felt your face burn, remembering last night's events. It was Sans, his arm around your waist, his boney leg wrapped over you.
You struggle to escape his grip, but half of you wants to stay in his comforting embrace.
You hear a low chuckle above you.
"heh, m-mornin' buttercup."
You lift your head to lock eyes on a blue skeleton.
You let out a small giggle, your mouth opens to change the topic.
"Buttercup?"
The blue on Sans' face darkens.
"y-yeah. if you have a bone to pick with it, i could change it.."
You immediately shake your head.
"No!- No, you don't have to change it... It's nice.."
You say as a smile finds its way to your face.
"if you say so, buttercup."
Sans replies with a wink.
You giggle. Sans looks at you with a smug expression.
"what? I don't think the nickname is that humerous, heh"
You struggle to hold back your laughter.
"Come on Sans! Haha, it's to early for puns!"
Sans shrugs his shoulders as he rolls of the mattress.
"I'm thinking of exploring Waterfall more today, do you want to come?"
Sans shakes his head, which sadly disappoints you.
"i wish I could, but i need to kelp alphys with waterver (whatever). i'll sea you later?"
You burst out in laughter.
"Oh my god! That was horrible!!"
You wipe an invisible tear from your eye.
"Yeah, I'll ketchup with you later."
You snicker, hinting at the large ketchup stain on Sans' jacket.
"heheh, good one, that really rattled my bones."
You both glare at each other holding back laughter.
You both break as you fall to the ground.
"Hahah, o-okay! Seriously I'll see you later!"
You wave Sans off, and immediately he's gone.
You let out a sigh and head out towards the door, to Waterfall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You found yourself on top of dark green grass, lit up by what are called 'echo flowers.'
Sans explained how they would repeat, or echo what is said to them, hence the name.
You walk across multiple bridges looking down at the clear, bright blue water.
You soon found yourself alone with a single echo flower in front of you, surrounded by the sparkling water.
You sit beside the flower, kick off your shoes and place your feet in the water.
The sudden cold sent a satisfying shiver.
You smile and look at the flower.
You gently tap one of its petals to reveal the voices it hid.
What you heard made you jump.
"B  e  h  i  n  d     y  o  u  .  .  ."
The voice spoke, you turn around as if the voice hypnotized you.
In front of you is a face you wish to forget.
A familiar yellow flower, wearing a suspicious grin.
"Long time no see, huh y/n?"
Your eyes widen as you begin to stand.
"What are you doing here, Flowey."
You spit, not wanting to deal with his whole 'soul' shenanigan.
"What? I can't say hi to an old friend?"
Hearing his voice alone, makes you clench your fists together, any tighter you would be digging into your flesh.
"I am not. Your friend."
The look on Flowey's face grew angrier.
"Fine then, you're not a friend. But a thief."
You tilt your head at his words, you were expecting something, but not that.
"Thief?"
You mumble.
The flowers grin widens
"Here, I'll educate you once more."
You felt familiar vines grip onto your legs and pin you down on the grass, these vines weren't as sharp as previously but it still made you flinch.
"Where to begin... In my 'absence' I started to follow you, observing you. Needless to say I found out everything that I needed to know."
You stare at him in curiousity, yet filled with anger.
"What do you mean!?"
You mindlessly spoke.
"If you weren't being an idiot, I would get to that."
He growls, the vines tighten around your legs. You let out a whine.
"Continuing on. Before you fell. I had the power to manipulate time. To do whatever I wanted, because I had something called DETERMINATION. Usually someone else would fall here, but for some reason YOU showed up."
Your mind pinpoints the information he's giving you.
Manipulate time? Does he mean RESETS? Is he talking about Frisk?
You look at him, waiting for him to continue.
"When we first encountered. I, heh, obviously wanted to kill you. But when I saw your SOUL. well I've never seen one like it. After that stupid goat got in the way, I tried to RESET, thinking there was a glitch in this timeline. But. I couldn't. My first thought was that you could. You STOLE my ability. So I followed you."
You slowly process his words. You... Can reset? The thing that caused Sans all that.. Pain.. Grief..
"I gotta say y/n... That smiley trashbag? You seriously couldn't like worse."
You growl at the flower, all he did was chuckle.
"Most of the time I followed you, bloody waste of my time. Until you visited the doc. I learnt all about your soul... I found out the reason why you somehow got that ability. Faith.. Is basically the descendant of Determination.. Which has the power I want."
He paused, his grin becoming more demonic as he laughs.
"WHICH MAKES ME HAVE MORE OF A REASON TO KILL YOU!"
You gasp as the vines grow large thorns, ripping into your skin. You let out a cry.
"We can end this now.. If you give up and give me what I want!"
He holds you there for a second. You give him a confident glare.
"Over my dead body."
His demonic smile grows.
"So be it. Say hi to Frisk for me."
You gasp as you struggle to get out of the vines' grip. Each movement you make, the vines dig deeper.
Tears start falling from your eyes. You try using your hands to rip the vines. Only to have Flowey's signature 'friendliness pellets' pierce your arms.
You scream in agony.
A familiar light shines in front of you.
Your eyes widen.
It's your soul.
It looks worse. . . So much worse.
In between the cracks are fresh ones, these are oozing a silver liquid. Almost identical to mercury.
You gasp as you try to force your soul back into you, it's vessel.
You're held back by more vines, one vine wraps around your neck, choking you, and the others wrap around your arms and waist. Freezing you in place.
The vine across your neck grows thorns.
Causing you to breathe and cough up blood, staining the grass below you.
Flowey cackles maniacally.
"I'm going to make you watch me tear your soul apart."
Your vision blurs with tears.
Your mind goes fuzzy as you begin to lose consciousness.
You see a circle of white bullets make it's way to your soul.
Then you hear a voice.
"Y/N NO!"
The voice screams, causing you to jump back to the little consciousness you have.
S..Sans..?
You black out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sans' POV: (haven't seen this in a while)

I'm chilling with Alphys, helping her with some experiment.
Then I notice something, well someone enter the big screen.
It was y/n
I got distracted and began to watch them.. They were in waterfall, playing with the water. I chuckle to myself and look back at the experiment.
After a while I check back on them.
I felt the anger and guilt overflow me, as I saw them lying in a pool of blood with that damn flower.
"Y/N!"
I scream, causing Alphys to look and gasp. Before she could say anything I left.

I arrive to see their soul, seconds away from being destroyed.
"Y/N NO!"
I scream as I summon a small wall of bones to protect their soul. I rush over to their side and check their pulse. Still beating..
This put a short smile on my face as I turn my attention to the cackling flower.
"Long time no see, huh smiley?"
Before I spoke, I cut the vines that were around Y/n with bones. Hearing him whine made me smile.
"not long enough."
I grit my teeth tightly, any tighter they may just break.
Wanting to end this quickly I summon a wave of gaster blasters in his direction.
I could see the fear fill his eyes. A bright blast echos through the falls.
Flowey lay there limp, but still conscious.
"Heh, till we meet again, trashbag."
Before I could attack him once more, he plops into the ground.
"coward.."
I mumble to myself before I turn my attention to what's important.
"y/n!"
I run over to their side. I hold them close, their breathing slowing down..
"no no no, come on stay with me.. y/n... oh god... i'm so sorry.."
The oh familiar feeling of guilt finds its way to me.
if i didn't look away from you.. you wouldn't be in this mess..
I found tears falling down my face.
I held them close, hoping Paps could fix this, I teleported back home.
