(Sans x Reader) The one you call home

||Chapter 10: The set-up||

You wake up to the sounds of clicking and giggles
You lazily open your eyes to meet your gaze at a short lizard and and a tall fish holding their phones in front of them, trying to contain their giggles and squeals.

You turn your gaze to the sound of snores below you, Sans is fast asleep, his head placed under your chin.
Your face turns bright crimson.
"Oh... y/n you're awake"
Alphys spoke, sounding dissatisfied.
"Damn punk, are you sure you two aren't a thing?"
Undyne laughed.
Her statement made your face boil.

You feel movement from below you.
You look to see Sans hiding in his hood and pillow. A blue glow is slightly peeking out.

"Fuhuhuh!"
Undyne chuckles, Alphys follows with giggles.
"Anyway, Alphys wants to take you back to her lab now for check up."

Your eyes widen.
"Didn't we agree on tomorrow?"
Your voice sounds confused.
You look at Sans who's still slightly hiding, but his head turned, looking at you.
"W-we agreed on tomorrow... Y-yesterday.."
Alphys slightly stutters
What? Was I asleep for a whole day?
You soon felt hands on your shoulders.
Your attention switches to the skeleton.
"h-hey buttercup? it's okay. it's normal. after wht you went through, of course you were bone tired."
His words comfort you. They always did.

You got up and got dressed.
You were ready to go with Alphys, Sans and Undyne tagged along. You were nervous about undyne coming. You look at Sans, he immediately knew what you were saying.
"i'll keep'er busy."
You sigh with relief.

You arrived at Alphys' she leads you into a room, while Sans and Undyne stay in the main room.

Sans POV:

y/n and alphys walk ahead, while i'm stuck with fish sticks. i would rather be there for y/n, incase something comes up... but i'll stay here for their sake.
i turn to undyne, wanting to start up conversation.
her expression, oh god. not that expression.
"what?"
i say bluntly
undyne chuckles, pulling me closer to her side.
"You like her, don't you Sans?"
i could feel my face turn blue at her words. but... i thought for a second,
do i like y/n?
i mean, i nearly lost them. i felt my soul shatter. i haven't felt that since genocide.
i look back at undyne.
the grin on her face widens.
"So you do! HA! I KNEW IT!"
her sudden outburst made me jump.
"quiet down would ya'!?"
I growl.
"Riiiight."
she gives a smug look.
"Are you free on Friday night?"
gotta admit, this filled me with curiousity
"yeah..? i'm always free."
I joke.
undyne looks unsatisfied, i chuckle.
"Can you meet me at my place at 12?"
i agreed, don't know why, it just felt right.
undyne grinned. I better not regret this.

Y/n POV:

The check-up began, your soul oozed more silver, which Alphys identified as faith. She pulled up images of determination ooze, which is gold. Apparently even though there's lots of ooze and cracks, your soul is still stable. You guess the reset caused more ooze.
Alphys handed you a box with glowing green tubes.
"D-drink this once e-everyday. I-it will make your soul m-more stable and h-hopefully stronger... I-it might taste bad.. S-sorry."

You smile at your friend.
"No need to be sorry if it helps."

Looks like that made her feel better.
You stood up, to be interrupted.

"A-actually... Y/n... Are you free Friday night..?"
The suddeness made you curious. But you were sure you weren't busy.
"Yeah, I'm free!"
Alphys' face beemed with happiness.
"G-great! Can you meet me here at 11am? There's someone I want you to meet!"

You notice she didn't stutter. This made a smile form on your face. You nod. And walk out the door.

You walk out to see Undyne smiling and a slightly blue skeleton.
"Hey guys! We're done with the check-up. Want to head back?"

They both look at you.
Undyne was the first to speak.
"Great! You took forever! Fahah! Actually... Me and Alphys are having a movie night just the two of us! So you can Sans can head off."

You turn to Alphys who was slightly red. You smile.
You knew something was up, she was always a little different around Undyne
Heh.. You have an ✩OTP.✩

You nod. Grabbing onto Sans' hand and running off, waving back.
"Bye guys!!!"
You were soon out the lab. Giggling.
"heh, wonder what's tickling your funny bone."
You remember you were holding onto Sans.
You let go and chuckle.
"S-sorry heh, I wanted to get out of there quick."

Sans' head tilts, then you realize that he has no idea what you mean.
"Oh! Uhm.. I think Alphys likes Undyne.. So I wanted to leave them alone"

You think he understood, as he let out a small chuckle.
"i see, she really is obvious, heh. i don't understand how undyne doesn't notice something fishy."
You giggle.
Soon the atmosphere felt serious.
"so... how is it.. your soul?"
He looked at you, worried about what you're going to say next.
You let out a sigh
"I-It's fine, a lot more cracks and o-ooze. B-but it's stable.."
You saw Sans shake.
You quickly said something, hoping it would make him feel better.
"Alphys gave me a bunch of medicine to help! I have to take one once a day, it's meant to make sure that my soul stays how it is and make it's system a little stronger."

This looks like it calmed him. You sigh and smiled.
"kay, good. have you taken one yet?"
You shake your head.
"I was going to take one when we got home."

You look down at the box in your hand.
You heard a sigh from in front of you.
"do you want to walk back? or wanna take a short cut?"
Sans held both of his hands out.
You didn't want to go home yet.
You held onto is right hand and smiled.
"a walk it is then."

You both head towards Waterfall. It might be your favourite place of scenery. Minus the event that happened.

You found yourself looking up at the ceiling. The twinkling rocks comfort you. The room where it happened was a few steps away.
Soon you found yourself in an embrace.
You look at Sans who was a blushing mess.
"What's this for?"
You say as you return the hug.
"thought you might need it, i know what's coming up."
You sigh.
Nothing can get past his thick skull.
You silently giggle.
"Can we go home.."
You whisper into his jacket.
He chuckles, holding you tighter
"of course, buttercup."
The familiar blue hue comforts you and soon you found yourself in Sans' room.

You slowly let go of Sans, only to have him hold you tighter.
You giggle
"Guess this is my fate, huh?"
Sans chuckles
"Are you tired? You have perfectly fine mattress over there"
You say hinting to the mattress on the floor.
"mmhm. i'm bone-tired. and i'm comfortable here.."

You nudge the stubborn skeleton.
"Come onnn"
You whine, struggling to get out of his grip.
"heh, fine."

You expected him to let go but instead he teleports you and him on the mattress. And before you could argue, the bone-headed skeleton is fast asleep.
